DESIGNED FOR DOT & DAB WALLS Corefix Connect is specifically designed for plasterboard over blockwork (Dot & Dab), and transfers the load to the blockwork for a secure hold. REINFORCED WITH A STEEL CORE 55kg Safe Working Load on 1 fixing. The steel core bridges the gap between plasterboard and solid masonry, and stops plasterboard bowing. Review: Great product - I spent some time shopping around and researching what I could use to hold a heavy shelf up to a plasterboard wall. My wall had 27mm insulated board, dot & dab, then brick. I fitted the plasterboard myself, and had squashed it on the wall quite hard, so little gap. I chose these plugs because I estimated there was at least 35mm from the finished surface to the brick. Even a 70mm plug would not have been anchored enough. I was impressed with the simple idea of inserting a metal core to provide strength, and never doubted that these would work. I had to buy the 120m length screws, as the shelf brackets were 15mm thick. I would say fitting them well, takes some skill and is not for an amateur. I used a small pilot bit to get my holes precise. Then an average 10mm masonry bit, will not be quite long enough to drill the hole, so either a long one, or not fully in the chuck for the last 8mm. I then had to use a long 6mm to make the hole slightly deeper, as the 120mm screws would need to go in further than the back of the plug (bracket 15mm thick). You need to be careful to clean the hole out, I used a screwdriver as if the dust gets packed in the end, the plug wont sit home. You can tell if a plug is not going to sit home, and if you are careful you can pull it out and improve or clean the hole. The screws are good quality. Hammering in the metal insert is very satisfying. I only had 2 issues. One hole must have caught a mortar joint, and was slightly off from the plasterboard hole. These plugs do not bend, so had to ream out the p'board. In tackling this, I broke one of the plugs just using moderate force to push it in. my only criticism of these plugs is that the final part near to the flange of the plug is fairly weak - due to cut outs for barbs. There is probably only 50% plastic remaining after the cut outs. Given that its not easy to get these holes 'just right' it would be nice if this part could be improved to allow a bit more robustness when fitting. I'm sure the damaged ones in other peoples reviews / photo's will have been due to not cleaning out the hole and hammering them until they crush. When fitted properly the flange sits a little proud from the wall, but not really noticeable and gives you something to clamp against. The only other issue is that it is hard to get holes in precise places, with a 10mm drill bit. If you don't have any adjustment on your fixing, then you need to take your time and be very careful. I ended up enlarging some of my bracket holes to compensate for the misalignment being a shelf with 4 brackets, it needed to be perfect. A TV mount wouldn't pose this problem. In hindsight, I should have taken my pilot hole into the brick, but I only went through the p'board. I would use again, without a doubt. Great product.
Review: A simple solution for dot and dab walls. - I found these fixings a few year back when I was researching fixing some wall units to my extension walls which are dot and dab. These fixings do take some beating when it comes to heavy loads and to date, my 3 units which are full of office / computer bits are still hanging on in there.. even with boxes on top of the units. Installation of these fixings are a doddle. The size I was using need a 10mm hole drilled through the plasterboard and into the wall.. I think it was about 100mm deep, and then you push the plug into the wall up to the collar..Ill come back to the collar in a mo. Once thats in, you then insert the metal sleeve which transfers the load into the blockwork. You then use it like a normal wall plug installation. The one thing Im not too keen on is the collar on the plug. It protrudes from the sure by a mm or so, which means whatever you are screwing to the wall will sit off the wall slightly.. probably in most cases not an issue, but I was using these to fit a tall radiator bracket to the wall and it was causing it to wobble. I got around this by slightly counter sinking the plug collar into the wall so it was flush. I dont know if that was meant to be done, but it worked for me. These are awesome fixings for substantial loads.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this hold a designer radiator 70KG without Water?**
A: You’ll have to work out how many liters of water the radiator takes and add to the weight of the radiator. Also depends on number of screws/fixings needed as I believe the 250kg is between four.

**Q: Are these exactly the same as the 100mm, apart from the length? I have a dot dab wall which has been brought out quite far and tiled So need longer**
A: As far as I know yes just longer screws maybe a different colour box, I used them to fix a thicker timber support to the concrete behind a 40mm kitchen wall. Only used a few so will likely get some 100mm screws to use with the rest of them as well.

**Q: Will these work on Celotex 50mm with 12.5mm plasterboard?**
A: I have used these on dot and dab plasterboard on a blockwork wall but would not recommend for a plasterboard stud wall as the plug would not be supported for the full depth. For fixing to plasterboard alone I use a “steel hollow wall anchor”, Diall or Fischer are good brands.
Good luck

**Q: Hi can these be used to fix insulated plasterboard to a brick wall?**
A: Yes this is what they are made for.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nothing is coming off the wall using these
*by D***S on 16 March 2025*

I was wanting some decent sized fixings to install some Ikea wall mounted furniture and a TV bracket and after some research I decided to opt for these. I opted for these plugs due to living in a new build with dot and dab plasterboard and wanting to get through into the block work to ensure the items being secured were not going to sag over time or fall off the wall. The Plug is long enabling you to secure into the block work, the metal sleeve insert is perfect for providing the support through the plasterboard and into the block work so it won’t sag. They are easy to put into a correctly sized hole with a hammer and are solid once the screw has been inserted to secure the item. The price is a little on the expensive side but worth every penny to ensure safety.
