My coffee is hot.but not real hot. If you add cream it then becomes warm.Is there a button?** A: I originally bought a Delonghi Espresso maker, and send it back for another model - the Perfecta, which works fine. (Sorry I don't remember the original model). However, it did not make the water hot enough. The brewer should work at 190 - 205 degrees F. If the coffee is lower in temperature it will not extract the flavor compounds, and it will be cool compared to your regular coffee. The Answer is - Send it back if the measured temperature in the cup is too low, e.g. below 185 F. There is no temperature adjustment. **Q: Does it tamp automatically?** A: Yes. Grind, tamp and extract all happen with the push of a button. Whole beans go in the top, little biscuits of compressed, spent grounds are emptied from the bottom. The espresso produced is VERY consistent in volume, strength and flavor - suggesting very consistent preparation by the machine. **Q: can this machine make americana's?** A: Yes, the machine comes with a guide to making just about any espresso based drink you can think of.
