Review: Kept my hive alive! - Kept my bees alive/warm during the winter storm Fern. We live in the deep South and got 4-6 inches of sleet. I have 3 hives. 2 with 20 frames and a smaller one with 7 frames. I put something on top of the lids of each for extra insulation since these only wrap the sides. It was easy to install and remove (by myself). I still wore my veil when installing, bc my girls can be opinionated and salty. For removal I did not wear my veil, but was very quick and did one at a time, walking away for a minute or two between each removal. The first photo is the day before the storm. The second is about an hour after it started. We had freezing or sub freezing temps for 10 days. It was abnormally cold for this area.

This insulated cover is easy to work with and fit my two deep hive very well. I have had to remove and replace a couple of times to work the hive and it was easy to do. The velcro is well placed and the straps and connectors are made of good materials.
