Casserole made in China. **Q: How tall is the pan without the lid on? The description says 4" but it is unclear if that is with or without the lid.** A: Mine is 4 7/8" high from bottom to top of knob on the lid. The pan is 2 1/2" deep and 12 inch diameter. Hope this is helpful. **Q: What is the difference between this 3 qt and the Lodge EC3D43 3 qt, other than almost 3 times the price?** A: The difference is in the shape. This is a shallow skillet shape while the 3 qt Dutch oven is shaped like a saucepan - deeper, smaller diameter. Both have loop handles and lids. As other reviewers have said, different shape, different uses - chops, steaks, or chicken pieces in the skillet shape, whole chickens, roasts, or casseroles in the saucepan shape. They are about the same price when ordered from Lodge. The price differences you see are due to "market forces". On Amazon anybody can sell anything at whatever price they think they can get, so if a size or color is in short supply, some sellers will up the price - sometimes to ridiculous amounts - so shop around different sellers. The other danger is that one which has a price too good to be true, probably is. Stick with reputable sellers. You may pay a bit more, but I you will get what you order, and if not they will make it right. The really bad reviews you see are from less reputable sellers, and may not even be Lodge products at all! I ordered mine through the Lodge Store on Amazon, they are a bit less than straight from Lodge, a bit more than some other Amazon sellers sometimes, but no problems! During COVID some sellers went really crazy, the prices changed every day! So if it too high, check back next week. Also, be sure to calculate TOTAL PRICE, that is price + shipping, some sellers will lowball the price, then gouge you on the shipping, so the total price is actually higher! I have (over time) bought 4 different sizes of the Dutch oven and the 3.6 braiser, my most recent acquisition - we love them all for different dishes, can't recommend them enough!
