I wouldn't want that to get in or on your cookies in any way. Not for food in my opinion. **Q: Can These Be Reused?** A: Yes, I have had (and used) mine for roughly a year and a half now (I paint 2-3 times a week). As long as you rinse them off they are reusable for sure. **Q: Does the paint peel off the handles?** A: Paint will peel off of any brush handle if it is left in water too long allowing it to absorb up into the wood.
