## Description

Serengeti Velocity Sunglasses with upgraded soft silicone gel nose pads for a more comfortable fit and better nose grip. Professional Pilots who wear sunglasses most of the day prefer this modification. Most Popular Aviator Sunglasses. Velocity’s lightweight titanium frame is built for speed, yet balances like a feather on the bridge of your nose. All Serengeti lenses offer the latest in photochromic technology, which constantly lightens and darkens throughout the day to ensure you see every detail. Fit: Medium to Large, Gender Unisex. SPECIFICATIONS Polarized: No, Photochromic: Yes, Lens Color: Drivers Gradient (amber), Lens Material: Light Weight Mineral Glass, Titanium Frame (Espresso), Base Curve: 8x, Temple Length: 130mm, Lens Size: 60 x 38mm, DBL 16mm, Fit: Medium to Large Universal Frame Features with Adjustable Silicon Gel Nose Pads and Spring Hinges. A favorite of pilots and drivers alike, Serengeti's stylish Velocity sunglasses are perfectly suited to any travel medium, from the road to the air to the water. The Velocity glasses feature your choice of four frame colors (gunmetal, shiny gold, espresso, and shiny silver) and three glass types (drivers' gradient, 555nm, and drivers' polarized), depending on your situation. The drivers' gradient lenses are built for anyone requires eye protection in addition to a crystal-clear view, such as pilots. The 555nm lenses, meanwhile, maximize green and yellow to produce greater contrast and clarity, making them ideal for bright light conditions. And drivers' polarized lenses perform exceptionally well under cloudy and harsh light conditions, with a design that filters the glare to protect your eyes. All the lenses are made from the finest material in the world--with advanced molecular technology that's engineered into the glass itself--helping them last a lifetime with proper care. Serengeti Molecular Technologies Some of the most fascinating technology in the car isn't a part of the car at all. For example, every pair of Serengeti sunglasses is equipped with photochromic technology, which helps the sunglass lenses change as quickly as the scenery. With photochromic lenses, the molecules inside the lenses adjust to the changing light conditions, causing them to lighten and darken automatically. The keeps your eyes from straining or growing tired, as the lenses do most of the work for you. Plus, the photochromic technology is inherent in the glass, so it never wears off or wears out. The lenses also offer Spectral Control technology, which provides unparalleled hi-def contrast and superior color enhancement by filtering specific colors from the visible light spectrum. This, in turn, results in crisper color and clearer images. In addition, Spectral Control lenses block the distracting blue light that causes blurring, minimizing eyestrain and eye fatigue. Finally, many of Serengeti's glasses include polarized lenses with glare reduction technology. Light tends to bounce and reflect off a myriad of surfaces, such as water, snow, or the road. Serengeti polarizing technology, however, removes the glare--and the stress it causes on your eyes. Serengeti's eye protection goes well beyond government and commercial standards, helping your eyes stay sharp and stay safe. Specifications:Frame color: Gunmetal, shiny gold, espresso, and shiny silver Lens color: Drivers' gradient, 555nm, or drivers' polarized Base curve: 8 Rx Temple length: 130 mm, spring hinges Lens size: 60 x 39 x 62 mm, D BL 16 mm Warranty: 1 year

Review: Serengeti 6935 Velocity Espresso non polarized Dr gradient 8 base - So these are excellent but a few things to be aware of prior to the review. I paid approximately $120 for these on desertcart Prime but there are other offers for the same sunglasses that are $25 more. They advertise the new upgraded silicone nose pads. These have the silicone nose pads and these were made in Japan dated 11/11/2015. They come in a high class box with what almost seems an oversized hard case and a very nice cleaning cloth. Everything about these glasses scream QUALITY. The first place I went was to a local optometrist office that sells glasses and asked them to fit them on me. Most offices will always do this for free and this has two Prime benefits. First they will fit perfectly and second they won't fall off when you bend over. They come with fairly straight arms and these need to be bent to fit slightly tighter over your ears so they cannot just fall off. Also this makes them better in the case because the arms won't touch the glass. With real glass these would undoubtedly break if they fall on a hard surface. As a retired airline and military pilot I can honestly say these are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. I recently underwent cataract surgery in both eyes and with new interocular lenses in my eyes I am seeing 20/15 distance and everything is quite bright. These glasses simply improve the quality of vvision and are perfect for driving. I had tried a polarized sunglass which you would never be able to wear in an airliner but the problem with a polarized sunglass is that something like a GPS will look strange. If you can get these for close to half of the suggested retail price they are a steal. The shading is perfect. I have read reviews where the small screws might have a tendency to loosen so that is something to monitor.
Review: Excelent for driving in any weather - These are great driving glases in all weather conditions. I always have kept sun glases in my truck and weare them from dawn till dusk every day. I have owned a pair of polarized Serengeti glases 15 years ago they were very good but heavy because of the glass lenses. The Velocity are very light with the minaral lenses and still have the clarity of a glass lenses. The driver gradient tint is excellant for driving ajusting the darknes as the day or whether changes. I do see a bit of dash reflecting in the windshield however it is not anything that affects you vision and if I put on my Ray Band polirised it disappears. The gradient lenses gives you a great view of your dash and cell phone with the gradient tint. I carry both these and a polirised pair of glass Ray Bands to have the best of both worlds but I were the Serengeti glases all the time they are comfortable and have good side coverage. May be I will buy a pair of polirised gradient Sarengeti in the future. You will like theses glases for quality and great look.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great sunglassses - Amazon Not cheapest
*by A***A on March 20, 2010*

Great sunglases. THese are gradient sunglass rather than polorized. They still have wonderful clarity and your eyes relax the minuet you put hem on. I think the gradient feature is the best though as driving in and out of shadows and sun is so much easier without you even noticing it. They are comfortable, but they are not made for rough use - at least not this particulare modle. My true aviator ones were stronger (at least lookg and feeling). Now, as to price. The ones that acutally shipped to me came from Optitech with 5% off coupon, and free shipping. So I went to their site out of curiosity. Free shipping isn't a big deal as they do it for everything. And 5% is nothing, but the glasses were almost $25.00 cheaper. Amazon is good, but sometimes they don't find the best deal. Oh well, live and learn. Hope Optitech is still selling them for less when you buy a pair.
