Potty training a litter
I am using this mat to gently introduce potty training to my dog's new litter of puppies. They are three weeks old and when they wake up and after they eat, I place them on the mat. They naturally urinate and defecate at those times. (Did I mention they are just over 3 weeks old?!?) My dog is a lazy golden retriever and her puppies take after her with their sleeping habits. I suspect this method would be much trickier if the puppies didn't have such predictable napping times. If I look over and see them peeing or pooing at other times I just gently place them on the mat to finish. I don't have to put nasty newspapers in their pen. The mat works perfectly and is thick. I have placed the mat on a large kennel tray to catch whatever urine flows through it. One of the features of this product is that it cuts the stink down considerably compared to other methods (newspapers, the sheets we used in the whelping box, etc.) It also rinses out well in the hose outside.

Perfect choice for a pet or grass area
We bought this for our dog area outside. The turf is great - the dog took to it immediately. It looks like grass but is easy to clean up. The grass blades are the perfect length if you are using it for a pet area. We had an issue with the first one that was shipped. After it was installed we noticed a "seam" across it that we couldn't get out. It made the area look a bit unsightly and took away the look of it being grass. We contacted the company and their customer service was superb. This is one of the things I would like to give particular attention to about this company - their customer service. It was timely and responsive and they stand behind their product and in keeping their customers satisfied.

SavvyTurf premium artificial grass works ! .
Just as pictured and advertised: eco-friendly non-toxic somewhat natural looking method of allowing pets to enjoy the outdoors with their owners without messing up the yard. Loved the green color ... the fact that there are drain holes for moisture to run off, and the rubber backing makes it mostly non-slip on small stones. Appears to be well made, and our dogs got used to it as part of a dog run immediately. We surrounded our 6.5 ft x 10 ft turf with small garden metal fences to keep the dogs in the right spot.Would have liked some sort of pins or metal clips into the ground, to keep it more in place ... and maybe some heft in the form of a weighted strip along the edges to keep it flat, even in wind.Yes, there are more realistic looking types of fake grass available ... but this certainly does the job for us and is attractive. And they are much more expensive and require digging, etc. to install. We are planning to buy more SavvyTurf to cover more of the yard ... so our pets can enjoy it as much as we do and actually lie on it just for fun.

Success!
We have a miniature pinscher who is use to going on a grass matt bed indoors, but was also easily trained to go outdoors. Previously, we had one of those grass gizmos marketed excuvely for dog pottying. It was a plastic platform with a slide-out door to catch pee. This grass matt stunk to high hell after two days, and the drawer feature was a gimmick, as most of the urine didn't drain down to the lower level. Washing the bulky plastic housing, separate drawer and the shed-fest grass matt was painful. Eventually, we got fed up with this junk, and decided to go for those wee wee pads with a low level plastic base to catch any urine that would seep through. Turns out, our dog would not go near it. She held it in all day until we took her out. After the second day with the same issue, I looked on Amazon for just a piece of turf we can place on top of what we had. I was so glad the Savvy Grow came in different sizes as the one we purchased fits very close to the wee wee pad dimensions, and the price is certainly right! The moment we got the parcel, we ripped it open. and the dog, hearing all the tearing sounds got excited (she does that with any package). She followed us to the bathroom, I rolled out that mat and she immediately walked on it and did her business! I couldn't believe what I was seeing, she hardly smelled it first! What's great is, the wee wee pad can now catch and absorb what hits the grass mat. So far, no smell, and it should be easy to clean. The mat does come rolled insanely tight, so when you first unroll it, the faux grass blades are flattened. Just rake your fingers through it thoroughly, and it will begin to take form. We're going for a second one.

Attempted to use for chickens nest boxes
I had to cut it to fit the nesting box so that wasn’t easy. This is THICK. The faux grass is soft and the chickens used it but they preferred the straw mats over this. It looked nice and was easy to clean but it would be expensive to get multiple 17x24 size samples just to cut them down to fit a nesting box.

Perfect solution to a muddy problem
We have a couple big dogs that race down the stairs into the back yard. Over time the repetition killed the grass and resulted in a mud pit at the base of the stairs. I didn't want to seed or sod because it would just happen again.Bought this turf patch because it was affordable and had good reviews. I figured it would be a one season solution. But it ended up lasting a couple years. Did exactly what I was hoping - stayed in place and kept the base of the stairs mud free.I had to pull it up when we moved out of the rental. I was surprised at how good of shape it was in after 2 years of abuse. Feel kinda bad throwing it away because it could probably be reused for a couple more years.I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this turf, and I'd definitely buy it again. I uploaded a couple photos of the install. Think it took a couple hours, but I tend to take my time on projects. Can't remember if the turf comes with spikes to secure it in place, or if I bought those separate. But I'd recommend a 50 pack so you can cover the sides and spread them out in middle.
