End of backup worries, gotta love USB 3.0 performance!
Man this really hit the sweet spot. While the 4 USB 3.0 ports are an great addition to any system, the ability to painlessly duplicate drives is fantastic. You duplicate source drive onto 1 to 3 target drives in a single pass.Previously I relied an Acronis imaging software for my system backup protection. Acronis "self-imploded" sometime after version 9 leaving me without a reliable way to create image backup of my many systems. This product does the job perfectly.I just setup a new Dell Optiplex T7600. I used this device to duplicate the factory 3.5" OS drive onto a new 1TB SSD. Worked like a champ. I have a stockpile of bare SATA drives I use like backup tapes. Given current costs, it makes a quick an painless way to backup my systems.

Ops , a lot of proplems
I don't understand how to put my trust in a piece that looks like garbage, as it looks, slow , crashes, lock files, delete your harddisk name, and its old sata cable

Rock solid proformance
Aleratec seems to match up against the competition really well... Microboards has some catching up to do in this space... just awaiting a universal m.2 nvme, pcie, SSD dupelicator & Secure eraser. Overall happy with this product as I use it in a PC warehouse that cycles drives daily in the ballpark of hundreds of units...

I have purchased 6 of these docks over the past 2 years .. for office and home useThey are currently have the best price to performance/relaiability ratio in SSD duplicatorsI have successfully cloned over 30 SSDs -- yes I have a RAID 0 system with 30 1TB SSDThe problem is though, after about a year, or a few months, one of the ports of this 4 port machine doe not work, causing SSDs not to be recognized. But when I insert the SSD into a different slot, it worksAlso, it seems to be quite picky ...For example, if u are using the duplicating function ... you really have to get an SSD with the same of larger amount of storage. When i purchased and installed 4 Samsung 850 Pro 1TBs into my notebook, office, and home PC, the only SSD the 850 Pro would successfully copy in is the CRUCIAL M550 1TBFinally, when duplicating an m550 to another m550, the speeds are 220mb/secbut when I duplicate an 850 Pro to an m550 SSD, or vice versa, the speeds drop below to 118MB/sec ...

Great for hard drive duplication
For hard drive duplication this doesn't get much simpler. Throw in a target drive, click through some simple menu options and tell it to copy to the other drives. I have done about 50 drives in the first two days of this product and have had no issues. A pre-imaged 120gb image takes about a half hour to copy to 3 drives.

Used Frequently. Works great.
I use this frequently to replace mechanical drives with ssd drives in laptops. Works great. Will not copy to smaller size hard drive, but knew that up front.

Works great, but not cheap
It works, however, a bit complicated to figure out and will required some user manual reading. So far, I have already burned multiple HDD and it works fine. Only downside is it is not cheap.

90 minutes to clone 3 500GB Drives
Cloning 3 500GB 7200RPM drives take about 90 minutes to clone total. All I do is pop the HDD's in, and hit enter about 8 times, to select all the defaults, and it just goes. I've used it about 6-7 times in the last 3 days, and not one hiccup.
