Really impressed with this kit for the price. I think this is a great option for people who would like to upgrade from the standard craft store wood burning pen but don't want to drop $300 on a razortip. If you're starting to hit a wall with your current woodburning pen - too heavy, clunky, not enough control, frustration with tips, tips melting, etc. then this is a great way to revitalize your interest in the hobby. The difference is honestly night and day. It heats up almost instantly, and cools down quickly as well. The tips that come with it are great, and fit very securely into the tool.My only complaint is that even with fairly soft wood I have to turn up the temperature to just barely below red to get it like I like it. There also aren't notches so you have to guess where the optimal heat setting is. It's also fairly sensitive so treat the heat dial like the temp setting in the shower.Also be prepared, the instructions are in chinese/english translated from chinese. Honestly a better translation than I expected though, not hard to follow. The little tiger to set the pen on while its cooling is also a nice tough.

I was so excited to get this pyrography gun only to find out that it only works for a few an hour or so before piece being to break off and the heat carries down from the wood burning top onto the pen you’re holding making it too hot to use after maybe ten minutes. The tiger stand thing it comes it comes with may also seem cute but it’s enifficent. It falls over. whatever you happen to have underneath the hot copper portion of the gun the I had personally placed on my table.... the cheap wooden tiger thing falls over and the copper that takes longer to cool than the tips burns whatever you placed everything on. The copper That holds the tips in place doesn’t stay put causing the wood burning tips to bend. The directions that come with this item recommended not turning the gun temp up too high or else it may cause problems with the gun. So the items own directions implies it is unable to function properly. Also this item ironically doesn’t work on low temps. I’m using birch wood. It’s a very soft wood that I have been able to use with the cheapest wood burners made without problems burning. I switched to this one for an “upgrade” after my really cheap one broke so fast. I figured it would be worth the money to get a medium price range gun since I am still a beginner anyways. If you are thinking about buying this, than be prepared to waste your time burning yourself, not finishing you art project and having to wait for you money to be returned to you until the company gets their item broken item back. That which they clearly have an indication that It’s dangerous, doesn’t work and is cheap hence the directions ask you not to use full heat....

I bought this mid grade Wood burning set for my son as he has been doing art projects over the past several years and outgrew the less expensive wood burners. This is a great next step and he can use this one till he says he is ready for a professional set up.

I bought this 6 months ago to use for a wedding present, used one time for 6 different pieces. It would work and then not. It was a struggle. Bc I’m a beginner and had never woodburned before, I thought it was me. After the wedding, I used for wooden spoons for Christmas presents. Same thing...works, then stops. I’ve cleaned the tips and turned the heat up. Now it’s not heating up. Super disappointed and wouldn’t have spent the amount of money had I known it wouldn’t last.

Im still learning how to use it. I like it better then the 20.00 one I bought at Michael's. It burns with ease. Heats up super fast. I'll do another update at a later time after I use it a few more times. So far so good.

the product itself is exactly as it states online. It is a great product. the shipping was very fast and I love that. My only wish is that it came with a carrying case / box of some sort instead of just the plastic bag. ..Worth every penny

Used less than 5 times before the hand piece got really hot and started to melt. Tried to return it but the return window closed a week ago. The user manual says there is a warranty but has no information on how to contact them for that warranty.Edit: the company contacted me and has sent out a new machine. they actually were quite helpful...I will edit my review based on the performance of this new machine.

Rubbish. Temp control very temperamental, have used it maybe 4 times and plastic from the casing has melted around the metal so no good at all now. It does have a warning notice on it about leaving the temp in the red for too long but I've only ever left it to get to a heat where it would actually mark wood then turned it straight down. Unacceptable and total waste of my money
