Let’s jump into the pros and cons. Pros: -More fluid movement than NBA Live. You won’t get stuck in clunky and inescapable dribbling animations. The passing options, pick and rolls, and fade-away jumpers all feel like they require actual skill. -Good graphics, solid representation of the game, players, and court along with a predictable (in a good way) physics engine. Player momentum on the run carries well, the ball bounces off the rim accurately, and contesting shots feels like a physical struggle between the players. -The variety of play modes is incredible. Whether you want a quick game, a more arcade-like blacktop game anywhere from 1v1 to 5v5, to create your own career or run a franchise, you can do virtually anything you’d like. -The career mode has an excellent story with a solid player creation mechanic, role selection, height, weight, arm length, and other customizable aspects all add to the fun. Cons: -Running into people while dribbling occasionally leads to the A.I. stealing from you. It’s understandable but seems to happen slightly more often than you’d expect. -Virtual Coins (in-game money) is still around and needed to improve your character’s stats, unlock customization items, and other aspects of the game. It’s easy enough to earn with virtually every mode earning coins for something as simple as making shots in career mode to completing blacktop games. Realistically the cons don’t come anywhere near overpowering the pros. This is a great hoops game and at the current price of $20-25 it’s a steal.
