The glassware is excellent and can handle temps of 500 degrees. It is very well made and can handle smaller loaves but I use this for larger loaves of 1200grams and above. Because it is glass, it requires no preheating of the pan and it heats up very quickly. I got this one when I started baking larger loaves that needed more height than the smaller version this company makes. I use both glassware ovens depending on the size of bread loaf I am making.I like it better than my metal dutch oven because I can actually see when the bread has reached the peak height and coloration before taking the lid off and completing the baking. I preheat at 500 degrees, then put the pan in with lid on and reduce heat to 450 degrees and bake for 40-50 min with lid on and complete the baking/browning with the lid off for 12-15 min longer. Depending on the loaf, I may let the oven stay at 500 degrees for 10-15 minutes to kick start the dough on cold days.I've used this many times and it holds up under quick temperature changes even when putting into a 500 degree preheated oven. Also, I spray the interior lid with water to trap moisture in the Dutch oven which helps to allow the dough to stretch and rise.You can turn it upside down as well and bake with it that way too.Worth the price for me!

I purchased this glass casserole with lid to bake artisan bread. As soon as it arrived it looked great and I was happy. I also ordered silicone gloves to make sure I could handle this baking dish properly. I mention this because I also wanted to make sure I could open/lift the glass lid with quick ease. Well, it all worked out. I never had difficulty with lifting or opening the lid, because the silicone gloves made it easy. As far as the casserole, it bakes and works great! I will also be using it for baked dinners etc, but my main purpose for this was for bread.I totally recommend. Worth the invested money!

A very nice dish that is large enough for the job. Awesome work on making sure the product arrives at my home in one piece. Great quality product which I plan to use for years to come.

What's not to like? The glass makes a very nice presentation for the food. It's easy to clean, and you can stack things on top of it in the refrigerator or in the cupboard when stored. Maybe one downside for some is glass is heavy... well it's glass.

If you do buy this for turkey, not all turkeys are created equal. They will not all fit. I bought this as a gift for my step mom and it didn’t fit her turkey on thanksgiving, be mindful of that when purchasing this item. But it’s very nice that it’s versatile. You can flip the top and bottom for whatever purpose you’d need to use it for which is great

Great size and so versatile and just a really nice dish! Makes THE BEST sourdough bread! And I usually bake my sourdough in a Dutch oven! And so fun that you can see the bread as it bakes! Worth every penny!

It makes for a beautiful presentation when you use the shallow piece as base for baked poultry & covering with large piece ensures moist & delicious meat!Reversed for baked pot roast, again, presentation is post worthy!

Definitely large enough for good size chicken or roast. Top piece versatile can use to cook or as serving container. Easy to clean as well.
