An Honest Review of the Comica CVM-WM-100
As a Musician, Teacher and YouTuber, Iโve had the opportunity to use a lot of wireless micโs, especially lavaliers. For this review, I compared the CVM WM-100 to Comicaโs Boom X-U1 ($179) and the Shure BLX 14 ($299), the industry standard in this area. First Impressions: The packaging of the WM-100 is very nice. Iโm impressed with the storage case Comica includes. Itโs a soft bag with some nice protective foam, which has cutaways to fit each of the three units nicely. Build Quality: The WM-100 has pretty average build quality for a lavalier mic. I personally prefer the design of their Boom X-U1, but this isnโt bad. I will say the more expensive Shure feels nicer in the hands, but in practice they both seem fairly durable. Power: Both the Shure and WM-100 use AA batteries. One advantage of this Comica is that the units can be powered from an external power supply. That could come in very handy on a video shoot or in an interview setting. Ease of Use: I found the WM-100 extremely easy to use. I didnโt need to tweak any settings. Mine paired right away and was usable right out of the box. Audio Quality: I was honestly very surprised with the audio quality of this microphone. I have experience with the Boom X-U1 and my complaint about that was it was very heavy in the bottom end. Comica seems to have remedied that by adding a built in high pass filter. That small change is a total game changer. I found the clarity MUCH Better than the Boom X-U1 and when I compared it directly to the more expensive Shure BLX 14, the difference was only very slight. As a creator, Iโm picky about what micโs Iโll use in my projects, and I have many to choose from. I can honestly say, I would feel completely comfortable using this for an interview or any video where I need to capture natural sounding speech. Conclusions: Like many of you, I have my personal preferences when it comes to microphones. In my opinion, Lavalieres are for public speaking and any sort of video where a shotgun mic canโt be used. If youโre looking for a livelier mic for teaching, public speaking, or content creation, I absolutely think this is a winner. While no microphone is perfect, Comica has done an excellent job of ironing out the flaws that held back some of their earlier products. Thereโs always a more expensive option, and a small bump in quality to pursue, but for me, the value offered here is hard to beat.

Well worth the money! Performed well in multiple situations! (See attached video mic tests)
***To see what the Comica WM100 Plus system sounds like in multiple mic tests, including noisy environments, out of site, and distance tests, please see the video I have attached to this review.*** I have had a great deal of time to test out this microphone system. My initial reaction is Iโm impressed. I host a YouTube channel where I test out and review tons of microphone systems. If you see the attached video, including the different microphone tests, I was most impressed with how this mic system performed during the out of sight test. I was able to go back about 140 feet, in an area with trees, at varying distances, blocking the line of sight from my camera. During that test, I was still able to pick up usable audio, with no noticeable drops in the sound recording. To give you a comparison, the Comica WM100 Plus performed similarly to my Sennheiser ew100 G3 mic system during the same mic test, in the same location. However, I saw that my Sennheiser mic system is currently listed around $800 new online on Musicianโs Friend. For the most part, the audio itself, I rarely picked up any unwanted sounds or artifacts. The only time I can remember experiencing some minor drops was during the distance test when I was well beyond 200 feet away from my camera. Even during that same distance test, I was able to pick up usable audio over 300 feet away from my camera. I also like that this system allows you the option to control the volume, which was super helpful when I used this mic next too a noisy freeway. I was able to turn the mic sensitivity all the way down on this system to help isolate my voice when recording. Another notable feature with this system is that you can control the low cut filter, along with their being a headphone jack to screen audio. This system also comes with a great case that is form fitting to the receiver and the transmitters. My only main critique of this system is that the receiver and transmitter appear to be made of plastic. If this system were to fall on a hard surface from high distances, Iโm not sure how this system would hold up in terms of durability. Otherwise, if you donโt plan on rough housing with this system, I think this mic system is a great budget mic for going the distance. This is the least expensive, most reliable mic that I have tested that has been able to capture usable audio far away from my camera, in both line of sight and areas where an object is blocking the receiver. Just that alone is a great plus about this system. Overall, I would definitely recommend this mic system.

Great value for the money
This is an excellent alternative to the Rode lavaliere mics. You get two microphones, instead of one, and I prefer using AA batteries as opposed to internal batteries. If they run out of juice, you can always pop in some new AAs, and recyclable batteries work just fine. Both mics are transmitted to one receiver. The quality of the mics itself are just OK, or adequate, but that is to be expected at this price point. I have a Sennheiser lavaliere that I use with this unit, and it works perfectly, so you can apparently mix and match different mics. The units itself are a little plasticy and cheap feeling, so handle with care. I have not experienced any radio interference or audio artifacts in the recordings, which is very encouraging. Also, I would say the range works even better than advertised. The carrying case is also very nice and adequately protects the units. Worth taking a chance on if you don't want to go with Rode.

Wireless Mic System for Camcorders with XLR and cameras with 3.5mm
System includes: Carry bag, receiver, 2 transmitters, 2 lavalier mics, camera mount, user manual Cables:2 3.5mm mic, 3.5mm-3.5mm, 3.5mm-XLR, usb Overall this is a great 2 microphone wireless system. Can be used with camcorders that use XLR audio, or could be used with any modern DSLR or mirrorless camera that accepts 3.5mm audio. You get some really solid controls on the transmitter boxes and the receiver box. The buttons are kind of clicky sounding, so make adjustments away from the two mics. You have control of each lavalier volume from the receiver. Had to turn mine down. Need a talent to mute the mic, they simply click the power button. Click again to un-mute. Muting can also be done with the receiver. You can also monitor the audio in Realtime, just plug in some headphones to the receiver. The build quality on everything is good. Everything is lightweight also. The carry case is perfect, stores all the components neatly, you could even toss in the 6 AA batteries you'll need. You will be able to get audio from a good distance with the antennas that these have. Try your best to be in the same room for clean audio. Also you can use any of the 48 channels. The recorded audio is great, and again you have lot's of control of each lavalier. This is a true wireless system, no apps, no remotes, purely functional and intentional. (2) 3.5mm Mic Cables Lavalier microphone with cable. All in one. Great for putting a small microphone on the talent. Cable can run under shirt, and attached with the metal clip. Power using 2 AA batteries or with USB power Cable and a battery bank. Battery bank could be placed in a talents back pocket. Even has a built in hoop and loop strap for later storage. On each microphone are foam windscreens. If needed the Wind Muffs will keep down the wind noise. 3.5mm-3.5mm Audio Cable Great for: DSLR, or Mirrorless with 3.5mm audio input, or any device that accepts 3.5mm mic input. 3.5mm-XLR Audio Cable The cable is perfect when using with a camcorder with built in XLR! If you use with a XLR Microphone , you will need to have a XLR female to female cord or adapter. (great for interviewing) Also I used to bring into my external sound card, but as 1 channel not 2. Not something I would normally do, but if needed it works. Micro-USB to USB-A Flat Cable In order to run either transmitter or the receiver without batteries, you must use this cable. Also note, you will need to have a cable and power bank for each one you want to run without batteries. Would recommend a very small power bank, that would fit into a talents pocket. Camera Mount This can be attached to the receiver (RX) and then attached to any camera hot shoe. The mount has to separate metal dials, one to tighten onto your hot shoe and one onto the receiver. Connect to a computer or recording device Connect receiver with the TRS output cable, then connect to your 3.5mm mic port on the PC, or any device that has a 3.5mm mic input. At this point use your audio software of choice. Lavalier Transmitters (TX) On top: Antenna, Mic External Input, Line In External Input, IR sensor and Indicator, working status indicator. On back: Battery tray, 1/4 thread for mounting to tripod, Belt clip (attaches on the 2 sides) On side: Micro-USB power port. Receiver (RX) Is almost the same. Has two antennas on the top. (one for each lavalier) Mic External and Line In External are 3.5mm monitoring jack and 3.5mm Audio Input Jack. All transmitters and the receiver have a power button above the screen. Function buttons: Selection-, SET, Selection+ Carry Bag Has a nice gray and black fabric handle with hoop and loop. Two zipper system. Front zipper is to store all of the small cables and lavalier microphones. Has two mesh pouches to hold the items. The larger zipper opens up and is padded on the top. Bottom is a gray preformed foam. Flawless really. This will store both transmitters with antennas connected and the receiver with antennas connected. Even after attaching the belt clips, no issues, fits perfectly. Black and white user manual Most of what you need to learn is in this manual, and has many illustrations to assist. Hope this was helpful.

Great system. Love the ability for external power banks. Would like 2 more Micro USB cables though
Hardware: Two transmitters & One Receiver that have range of 100 Meters or around 109 Yards (basically an American Football field). The range is impressive. This is great for most filming needs, especially if you are filming a local high school football game. You can have multiple people talking from anywhere and keep your camera centrally located. Anything less than that and youโre perfectly fine. Two 3.5 mm lavalier microphones that provide good audio, what you would expect from a lavalier mic. Make sure you keep your subject within 3 feet of the microphone (closer is always better of course) for the best usable audio. I also loved that they included two wind muffs for the lavalier mics. These work great for any outdoor filming or even indoor filming if you have a lot of air movement like fans or air conditioners. Two Output cables. A 3.5 mm - 3.5 mm cable used to plug the receiver into a camera or phone and a 3.5 mm - XLR for connecting to an audio board or camera with an XLR input. I like that they included this cable. I have not had the opportunity to test this yet, but I would like to try to use the 3.5 mm - XLR cable as an input and bring in an XRL Mic into the Input of one of the transmitters. If you have tried this I would love to hear about your results. I will try it one day, just havenโt had the chance yet. One Micro USB - USB A cable which is used to plug in an external power bank to any of the units. I love the fact that all three units have this ability to use an external power bank and not just AA batteries. But I would like Three cables so that I had one for each unit. Tip: When using an external power bank I would also use some gaffer tape to secure it to the side of the unit. I talk about mAh sizes later on if youโre interested. Three Belt Clips that you need to put on. It was a bit difficult to get the clips on at first, but I do like that they are pretty secure and I like that they can be removed. I have not had an instance where I needed to remove them yet, they donโt really get in the way. Camera Mount which is simple thing Iโm glad they included. They donโt cost much and many videographers will have a dozen or more laying around. But itโs nice to see that they wanted to include one for the receiver if you are using it with a camera. Just a nice thing to have. Case which is simple and nice. I love that the main compartment holds each unit with the belt clips on securely in foam. Iโm not worried about damaging anything when moving equipment around. The front section is a good size, holds all the accessories easily and could also house many batteries or power banks if needed. I like being able to keep everything together in one case. Power: The Receiver and both Transmitters can take 2 AA batteries or use a Micro USB external power source like a power bank. With 2 AA batteries each unit will last 6 hours. Since a AA battery has 2400 mAh (4800 mAh total), you are using about 800 mAh per hour. So be mindful of that when buying power banks. Instruction Manual & Warranty: Well organized and easy to understand which is good because there is a slight learning curve to use it properly. So make sure you read the user manual, it will help you get up and running quickly. Also, keep a copy or Print out the receipt to keep with included warranty. However, I wish both had a larger font, maybe make them bigger, it was a bit hard to read. You can download the user manual in a PDF form which makes it a lot easier to read and zoom in. Website: Website is clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Overall I am impressed and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in wireless microphones. Great job Comica.

Great audio ONLY if using batteries
Well the audio device at times seem to work well. And other times it dont. I mean I guess for the price the audio comes out decent at times. But I didnโt think the entire thing would be cheap plastic. When recording audio atleast for me if I used any sort of cable to have a constant power i would get a buzzing sound so loud it would mess up my audio. So I would have to constantly be using batteries. And if anyone knows a when a interview is like or any other long shooting film activity is like, then we all know that simple batteries are not enough. This definitely needs a change. I mean come on. For this price, you get a bunch of crappy plastic, decent sound, and something you canโt even hook up to constant power. Just go with a mic adapter with a shirt clip to your phone. Much cheaper and you already have the device in your pocket.

It works! It works well! It is an incredible value!
I've been in Pro Audio for more than 40 years, having used wireless from all of the major pro brands, so my expectations were pretty low. I needed a wireless lavalier setup for some corporate videos we're shooting, so rolled the dice knowing I could send it back to Amazon. I also bought an 8-pack of Amazon Essentials 2400mA rechargeable batteries for the 6 needed plus two spares. First, the value proposition. For around a couple hundred bucks you're getting a dual-channel wireless receiver, two belt-packs, two lavalier mics with windscreens and fuzzy screen, plus all of the needed cables and belt clips, plus a hot-show adapter and a soft zippered case! Come on, tell me you're not impressed, this is a great value; if it works. Performance. So, there are three aspects to wireless mic performance; 1) RF performance, 2) AF quality, and 3) Mic quality. While I haven't tried what some other buyers did, using the mics at 200+ feet, the RF performance has been outstanding. Since RF noise is generally a show-stopper, you need to have a strong and consistent signal with great rejection of other RF noise. This set has performed flawlessly, even in an office filled with Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G phones and across the street from a Fire Hall. Audio performance boils down to Noise, Dynamic Range, Distortion and Response. Monitoring on headphones, I thought the noise floor was a little high, but in reviewing recordings, I can say that it is well within expectations for any Prosumer application. Dynamic range has also been well within the range needed for our corporate videos, and consequent distortion is negligible. Of course since there's no "real" documentation we don't know if there's a limiter or noise suppression circuitry, but so far, no overloads. And finally, the mics sound like you'd pay $200 just for them. Sure, there's a bit of handling noise, but if you route the cables correctly and affix the mics so they don't rub against clothing, you're golden. As for build quality, everything's functional but you know it's a budget system. The battery doors are a little fragile and it's tough to get them to close smoothly, but that's minor. The belt clips are a little too stiff but work well. Display is good, backlight is time-adjustable, and the buttons are all good and offer tactile feedback. I like that the mic and line inputs on the belt packs and output & headphone outs on the receiver are all 3.5mm with screw threads to keep your cables in place. Nice touch. The hotshoe adapter is an unexpected bonus and the case is surprisingly well made and padded. With respect to features, everything you need is there, so long as you stick to the stock configuration. You can change radio channels if there's interference, adjust the time-out of the LCD backlight, enable and disable the mute function. On the receiver, you can also adjust the output level to better match the input of your camera or recorder. What you can't do is adjust the gain on the mic inputs, which isn't a big deal as long as you stick with the supplied mics. So, if you need a wireless mic rig for corporate or YouTube video production, live, recorded or online presentations, amateur theater or school productions, this is your ticket. Keep in mind that mics are omnidirectional, so they're best for controlled noise environments and low-gain live reinforcement, which includes most anything you'd buy a $200 rig for. No doubt the same PCBs are likely hiding inside a branded product selling for a multiple of what you'll pay for this. Enjoy!

Unreliable Hardware. Unresponsive Customer Support.
Unreliable connection results in audio dropouts resulting in audio becoming unusable. Not for use on actual productions. Fine for people who have time to do multiple takes by themselves, but not for professional use. I have had to stop talent mid-take because audio dropped out. On one occasion, the transmitter stopped working (even though it was still powered on). Reset and worked again. So many people (buyers and reviewers) focus on range. Why? Range is irrelevant unless you're recording a coach on a soccer field 300ft away. Solid connection and clean audio is what matters to me. The belt clips are woefully weak. At one point, the clip snapped off while talent was mic'ed up. Contacted support with my issues within the 1-year warranty, no response after a week. Highly NOT recommended. I'll likely be looking at the options from Sony for my two-person wireless lav setups (two transmitters one receiver).

Went above and beyond my expectations! - Great alternative to more expensive units!
This wireless mic kit has gone above and beyond my expectations! The kit comes in a nice little padded carry case, with a custom foam insert, and a plethora of cables and accessories. The rx/tx units themselves are a little bulky, but very light weight so camera-ops and talent shouldn't feel burdened by the extra weight. The RX unit can be mounted using the included 3/8" male-to-coldshoe mounting adapter and the TX can be mounted using the included belt clips, both units also have a 3/8" female tripod mount. The set-up is is very simple and all units come pre-configured meaning there is no fiddly syncing. The displays are monochrome, very bright and easy to read - there is also an option to turn off the backlight entirely or set it to auto-dim. We made use of the included male XLR to male 3.5mm TRS cable so we could go straight into our female XLR pre-amp - a very nice inclusion! Whilst in use, the units performed well with minimal delay and very little quality loss. The useable transmission distance is around 50m even through obstacles, however with line-of-sight it would probably be closer to 90m. The included lav mic is okay, definitely useable and is a nice inclusion to get up and running, but I would recommend upgrading when possible to something with more dynamic range. The units take 2xAA batteries each so you will need 6 to run all 3 units. They seem to last for around 2-2.5 hours of constant usage. In conclusion - I think these are a great alternative to some of the more expensive RX/TX units on the market and will certainly help you get on the wireless hype! PROS: - Inexpensive - Included cables, accessories and carry case - Lightweight - Fair, useable transmission distance - Easy to set up, good mounting options CONS: - Bulky - Included lav mic is lower quality - A bit plastic-eey feeling

Excellent Microphone for Film Making
The Comica CVM -WM 100 Plus 2 is great value for money. Highly impressed with the audio quality, yes the build quality is light weight but works perfectly even after pushing the system to 80 meters for a 2 presenter set up. The added advantage is the ability to accept a line input from an external audio mixer. I got to record a number of programmes with same set of batteries, What a life saver. I would easily recommend this system to fellow producers. The wide range of channels to choose from are advantageous especially when other broadcasters were also on location. The great price, surprisingly good audio quality, super easy set up and the carrying case wins it for me over more expensive mic sets. The receiver and transmitters are powered by AA batteries or a USB power source. The bodies are plastic, so not as robust as my Sennheiser's, but the total cost of the whole system was only ably 25% the cost of one Senn body pack. The battery cover is a little tricky to lock in place, but I discovered that you have to press and slide for it to lock into place. Other than these minor points, I highly recommend this for a low-cost high-quality sound with very good digital cannel selection avoiding any interference or dropouts.
