Laguiole by SCIP 9cm Pocket Knife with Amourette Handle

I purchased this knife for my Dad for his birthday. He was familiar with the brand and asked for it by name.The knife is beautifully designed, feels durable and heavy, but has some fairly unsettling design flaws. For one, when the blade is folded down, the tip of the knife sticks out slightly. I'm guessing this will create snag issues as he continues to carry it around. Secondly, the wood work toward the bottom of the handle has visible gaps between the wood and the metal.Overall I'm glad I was able to find what he wanted, but for the price, I had much higher expectations. The blade itself is sharp and I'm sure he will get years of use - but the woodwork is adequate at best, and the protrusion of the tip of the knife could potentially be a deal breaker.
