Wolverine Heritage 1000 Mile 6" Cap Toe Boot

The quality of this boot looks amazing. The leather is thick and high quality. The color and finish are very nice - a brown, almost red color. I normally wear a 9 1/5 and bought the 9 as most reviews said buy down 1/2 size. The toe box is generous - wide - but appropriate for a 9 1/2. The length is also appropriate for a 9 1/2. The heel cup is snug without being tight. The boot is heavy. The materials for the sole look heavy duty, durable and well made. The foot bed is rock hard and needs a shoe insert. The shoe would have been a good fit otherwise. I normally wear an orthotic arch support. There is not room in this boot for that. The height of the boot is very low. The leather across the forefoot is too tight and my foot was numb within minutes. I tried just a shoe insert and it was too tight across the top of the foot for event that. I am returning the boots. I decided not to replace them with the next larger size as the length and width were almost too much in a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. I now see this same complaint from other users. A boot of this quality and cost should fit true to size and be comfortable out of the box. Disappointed.
