The best product I've found for remotely powering electronics with a UPS
This product allows you to install a standard 3-pin IEC plug (the kind you'd see on the back of any desktop computer and most televisions) in an electrical box and connect it to standard 14/2 electrical wiring to run power to another outlet. I used it to connect our wall-mounted TV on one side of the room to the battery backup and surge protection in the media cabinet of the built-in on the other side of the room. It works perfectly for this.My only complaints:* The white of the rubberized bezel around the IEC plug does not match the white of the included Decora plate (nor most of the typical whites you'll see for electrical stuff)* It would be nice if they could find a white IEC plug, but the only non-black ones I've seen are on Apple products, so I imagine the economies of scale don't work out here.* The included fasteners for attaching the plug to the electrical box have what appear to be a square/slotted combination head, rather than the more typical Phillips/slotted combination heads seen on most of the bundled electrical fasteners.

exactly what you need to move power from down low to up high - like for a TV wall installation
I would give this 5 starts, but man this is pricey for an outlet. It is, however, exactly what you need to move power from down low to up high - like for a TV wall installation. I used it to connect an outlet in the attic, that powers my camera DVR, to a UPS in a closet, and this is THE perfect solution for that. This would also be perfect for your hidden outlet behind the TV to have UPS protection too.It is pricey, but at least it is high quality, so buy it. Don't be an idiot and run an extension cable in your wall to power your TV, get this, some proper Romex and an outlet to do it right.

Perfect inlet socket for Wall Mounted HDTV
Received even before it was listed as shipped (fast). Solid, quality IEC inlet which I find to be the ideal way to get power from your surge suppressor to your wall mounted hdtv. It's surprising hard to find power inlet receptacles, then you need to get an extension cord of the right size/shape to plug into it. Those are usually longer than you want as well.Using an IEC inlet like this allows you to use the same type of cord as all of your other components to provide power to your HDTV from your surge suppressor. Also makes it more difficult to confuse this for a power outlet. The kit has everything you need for the inlet portion of your extension, you just need to get the electrical cable to run in the wall and the outlet for behind the TV (which are both easy to find).Very pleased with this inlet. Easy to install.

works great
It's kind of weird while installing but it works perfectly. I used it to route a projector's power into a rack mounted UPS and surge protector, then back into the wall. The wires on the back are very stiff but I guess it's no different than romex, but you either have to cut it down a little or have to fold it multiple times for it all to fit in the box. Be mindful of which way the power cord is placed. I installed it in the way I thought was intuitive based on the wires coming out of the back just to realize that the wire that plugs in to the front is at a 90 degree angle and stuck straight up just to be routed back down. Had to take it out and do it all over again.

A little expensive, but works well
Works well, but kind of expensive for what you get. One thing to note on this is that there are no terminals on the back to attach romex to. It has a 6 inch romex lead molded into the back of the unit that you have to strip and wire nut to your existing romex. Not a huge deal, but if you've got limited room in your box, it could be a bit of an issue.

Easy install.
A little pricey for what it is but it allows for a clean setup to have the tv outlet on the UPS in the closet. Easy install.

The plug sits a little recessed from the cover plate ...
The plug sits a little recessed from the cover plate such that there is a slight gap. I ordered around 8 of these to wire a newly constructed home for flat panel tvs, and the problem was consistent with all of them.

Nice Clean
AWSOME product and now no cables going up wall. Takes extra work to run wires in a wall but I have tools and experience. Probably not for average person but they average person should definitely look into having professional/handyman install one.Nice Clean Install
