High quality IR torch
Very impressive torch - very high quality and well made but at a reasonable price, simple to operate and nice to have the option to alter the range and focus of the beam - the 'ON' indicator light is also super helpful given this is IR. Works perfectly with the Prowl monocular and provides plenty of IR light while saving the battery on the monocular itself. Doesn't come with a battery but I used a button topped 18650 type and it fit with no issues at all. Pleased and impressed with my purchase - would recommend!

Works well for the price (£40)
850nm version. Note 850nm produces more light than 940nm. 940nm is more discrete and not all cameras pick it up. I bought this torch to occupancy my night vision rifle scope. For 2 reasons, 1. prolong camera battery by using different ir source. 2. I could put torch in different location to me so I won’t get reflection when looking through glass to outside. For both of these points it works well. The torch itself is made well, feels tough. It’s not any heavier than any other torch of its size. Cannot really comment on its illumination range as I’ve not tested how far, but my garden is 80ft and it illuminated it well at the back. You can also widen or spread beam to suit. Intensity control wheel nice and easy to use. The illumination is better on my camera at setting 1 than this torch is on max, however this is probably why my camera can only last an hour and a half with it on, this is not a problem though as the torch does as its intended to and we’re talking different league of money. As a previous review states and I also see, there are a few lines can be seen flowing from top to bottom. This doesn’t effect my use, it could be the torch, it could be my camera. But it doesn’t matter to me. To sum this up if you want a torch to illuminate ir this will do it. If you want a torch for an alternate ir source for night hunting within 100m this will do it. May be suitable for further but not tested, so can only confirm what I know. (Mounting to a rifle could be done with the right clamps, will obviously add weight to your setup) Yes there are better torches out there but it’ll cost you more and if you need more ir light, it’s probably not a torch you need.

XB% Pro Flexible and easy recharge.
The XB5Pro is a fantastic IR torch which is both powerful (on a narrow focal beam) and practical having both a variable fucus beam and a dimmable power output. it is sturdily built and has an inbuilt charging port (USB C) which makes recharging easier. One down side at the moment is that the focus head is very stiff, which i expect will free up during prolonged usages.

Great piece of kit.
I bought this to replace the cheap non adjustable IR torch I have, and what a difference. 100% better, and the dimmer switch is a very useful touch. My only gripe is that the battery life is quite short, so make sure you have a few spare batteries with you.

It’s good
Very good value ir torch. The on/off button switches positively and quietly. The dimmer rotation and the little green led that lets you know its on are brilliant features. Used this in conjunction with the Mk1 Hik Alpex for close range barn work, it worked flawlessly! Only misses out on 5 stars due to slight wobble in lens head where you adjust from flood to spot. Own ir’s costing triple the amount paid for this little torch and can’t see where that extra money goes? Recommend this torch👍

A must have accessory for night vision camera
Great product, attached it to my camera and the results were amazing, the built in 1w lamp was good for 200mtrs but since adding the new lamp I’ve more than doubled the viewing distance, very happy with lamp.

I have bought quite a few infrared flashlights over the last few years and I've started to work more with night vision and have been doing some infrared photography and, as a result I went out and bought a couple of "cheaper" infrared flashlights to use and try...they worked...then I upgraded to the Nightfox XB5. Honestly, this is by far the best infrared flashlight I've ever used! It provides the best options and light I've ever used in infrared! It has beam options from a wider angle to spotlight, and it lights stuff up in such a way as it is easily seen via the night vision or infrared scope or film, but is not so bright or obvious as to give away a position or location as it can be seen by the naked eye like some infrared flashlight. This has quickly become my go to for night vision or infrared use! My only complaint is it does not come with the batteries, which on their own, with a charger are not cheap, and there is no option to charge them once in the flashlight, but still overall this is the best infrared flashlight I've ever used, and this one issue would not cause me to recommend this light less, it's simply a need to know. If you are looking for a good infrared flashlight, the XB5 is one you should research and consider!
