Schoenhut 8 Note Oak Mahogany Thumb Piano

My husband has a really nice kalimba/thumb piano. My 5 year old sister is always wanting to play with it, so I wanted to find an affordable option to get her for Christmas. This particular thumb piano was perfect! I like that it's not rainbow-colored or crazy looking, but it has a sturdy plastic backing, and it seems to be a quality product from what I can tell. Anyway, my sister loves it, which is the point!

Schoenhut 8 Note Thumb Piano, Oak/Mahogany, One Size The saying: you get what you pay for, really applies to these thumb pianos.They look pretty, but do not sound like they are actual musical instruments. Some of them were put together so poorly, that the tine was falling out in the box, and some of the tines buzzed instead of chiming. It is not really clear that these could be tuned, and keep in tune for very long.I bought these for underprivileged children and was so disappointed in the quality, that I plan on returning them. It would be embarrassing to give these out to anyone.

The sound is very bad -- lots of vibration.

Item is just as decribed. It has a beautiful finish. It sounds wonderful. Well worth the price paid.

It cannot be tuned. the construction is not good.
