Everything for Early Learning, Grade 2

I love this book. There are so many great worksheets to cove a wide variety of topics that need to be covered in the second grade curriculum. This is so helpful for anyone that has a learner that is struggling with school or for that homeschooling family that don't want to spend a lot on a curriculum. This is not really common core based so that impressed me even more as most books on the market are. My child enjoys doing all the fun pages and this is a great review for older children as I have a fifth and fourth grader. I have to say this is a great must get, and I am very sure that your children will enjoy as much as my children have. The instructions on each page are at grade level and very easy to understand creating a better self lead learner. This is the book that most school districts in my are of MN use to teach the children needed curriculum standards.

Great buy

This is a good workbook but the series seems to be a year behind with their material. Or at least they are here in gwinnett county GA. My daughter likes the bright pictures and the little story word problems. The material covered is good and the instructions are aimed at the child not the parent making it easier for them to work independently.

This book does a great job of reviewing basic reading skills. My student seems to enjoy reading it very much.

We bought this one at Costco, that's probably why it's an old edition (2004 edition). Compare with a few other workbooks that we bought for our child, this series is the worst.The printing is ok, but the pictures are often confusing. For example, it would ask the child to count how many flowers in the garden, while the "flowers" in question are not clearly printed, there would be something that looks like a flower, or it could be just part of a shrub. The pictures are often crowded with many objects overlapping each other, making it hard for, not only the child, even the adults, to distinguish.My child has worked on the first grade and 2nd grade workbooks, we've found several mistakes within both books. And since there's no answer key pages in this series (other workbooks we have all have answer key pages), there's no way for parents to know how/why they came to the incorrect answers (provided for the child to choose from). Between me and my husband, we have 2 Master's degrees and 1 Ph.D., I believe we ARE competent enough to know those were NOT the correct answers!At least now we know that we will NOT buy any workbook in this series anymore. Another series from the same publisher: "Total Basic Skills", and also the BrainQuest Workbooks are what we've bought, they are much better. The printing is MUCH better, and most importantly, I haven't encountered any mistakes in those books.
