Been a big fan of Michael. First album, been playing it over and over again. If you like guitar oriented music, you gotta listen to this! 'Attack of the mad Axeman' & "Never Trust a Stranger' Awesome songs. The whole CD is great.

There are certain albums that have an analog engineering quality that is mesmerizing. I'm not talking about the clean and pristine sound.A smooth but raw, tight but loose kind of feel, to where it's like your sitting right there with them and you hear those small but beautiful imperfections so raw, so organic, so human.You probably own some, Van Halen "Fair Warning", Ozzy's "Blizzard of ozz", Aerosmith "Rocks". This is one of those.If you have quality equipment then you know what i mean.This is my favorite MSG album in regards to originality in song writing, it's not commercial, they weren't afraid to try things here. After an album and a tour under there belts you can tell these guys are comfortable with each other and there "Gellin" quite nicely.Barden lets loose with emotion, Schenker in top form, a seasoned vet on bass, tasteful dashes of keys, and Cozy Powell needs no introduction. Treat yourself to some well written songs by a great band.

The second album is MSG at absolutely the top of their game. More importantly the absolute best line-up that could ever be achieved with Glenn, Powell, Barden and Raymond. The songs flow together perfectly. Just as good as the self-titled but an evolution of sorts. Hands down some of the best songs such as "On and On" with its almost classical intro, the crunch of "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" and the UFOish "Never Trust a Stranger". Also, magnificent bonus live tracks with the power of "Cozy" hammering through every tune. Don't even think about it, get it before it goes out of print.

Diese Rezension betrifft nur die Vinylausgabe und nicht die Musik! Das Vinyl war leider ganz schön verkratzt, was an der Innenhülle lag. Leichte Pressrückstände und die Platte war so statisch, dass man auch beim "vorsichtigen" rausziehen die Augen verdreht. Man spürt/hört wie die Platte reibt. Schade, eine einfache gefütterte Hülle hätte viel Ärger erspart, so schick ich die Platte zurück, denn für knapp 24,-- möchte ich eine einwandfreie Scheibe.
