18 years, and still working
I bought this new in 2005 for my mature and busy medical practice, for use at my desk. We had a military grade scanner up front, but this one was reasonably busy for 12 years or so, but with my retirement it moved back home with me, where it functions as a fairly light duty Printer Emeritus. The damn thing insists on continuing to work well despite a fairly well-coordinated program of neglect and abuse. I dropped it once, so now it looks like I dragged it behind my car, but it seems to thrive under this regimen. Don't buy this thing if you're one who gets a new car every 2 years. This one's going to outlive me, apparently.

Pretty much what I was expecting for refurbished
Had a scuff on the front cover and makes a slightly abnormal noise when scanning but so far seems to work well. Great packaging.

Do not buy this model as the software is no longer available!!! Horrible purchase! The equipment is damaged and in really poor condition.

This is my second Fujitsu Scansnap S1500
I have used a Fujitsu S1500 for the past 10 years without issue. My wife needed a way to scan documents in her office. This fills the need.There are much faster scanners out there for a lot more money. For home use, this unit is just fine as I rarely scan more than 20 pages at one time. The unit can scan double sided and in color. The destination option that I use is to a PDF. received damaged am returning it
ordered it for Director of Education in our school, Centura College in Newport News VA. it was very embarrassing as he took it out of the box, all scratched up, knicked and banged up...not new!

Terrible condition. It looked like it fell down the stairs.
Item came in very bad shape, it has scratches everywhere and dents. It has a plastic melted and chipped corner on back of the scanner. Terrible condition. I would not recommend anyone to buy this product.

Did not work
I had owned this same model and used it faithfully for 13 years until it finally gave up the ghost. I’m using an older computer for accounting and that machine can’t utilize more modern scanners, so I had to find a refurbished version of the same Snapscan S1500. It shipped quickly and arrived right on time, well packaged. Sadly, when I tried to use it, this scanner would try to feed paper through but the pickup rollers simply refused to pull the paper through. After dozens of attempts it managed to pull only one sheet and then refused to grab any others. Great machine when it works but this one just didn’t work.
