Yay, warm water at last!
Just a quick addition: This is the fourth year we've been using this cover, and it's still just as good as the day we bought it. Hasn't lost any buoyancy at all, and is showing absolutely no signs of being degraded by sunlight!---Our pool is in shade most of the morning, so the water temperature used to seldom get above 80F, and even that on only a few of the hottest days of the year. That's not really comfortable for quiet lounging with a book, though to justify the cost of the pool I would force myself to do so anyway :)Putting this cover on has made all the difference! The water is regularly over 86F now and it's not even July yet. Even my husband, who had only used the pool like three times since we bought it, gets in with me now.The main thing it does is prevent losing heat overnight. It used to be that the pool was only ever warm on days that followed very hot nights. Now that we are leaving this cover on over night, the water that gets warm during the day, stays warm, so that by the time the sun hits the pool the next day, it adds to the temperature instead of just replacing lost heat again. The material really is very sturdy - not your average bubble wrap, but much thicker, and also a pleasing shade of blue. It sticks to the surface of the water like a suction-cup in a wind-storm (we've had several since we bought it) but rain doesn't accumulate on top and sink it. I was also pleased to find that cutting the material to fit around the pool steps does not void the warranty. Our pool has very good circulation, so the temperature is even from the surface to the bottom. I have had no problem with running the pump with the cover on - it doesn't get sucked into the skimmer or anything like that. One thing I was concerned about was that the chlorine floater would not be able to move around, and that a buildup of chlorine in one spot would damage the liner, but when the pump is running the chlorine floater bobs about all around underneath it just as it would without the cover, so that's good, too!The only drawback is that this cover - we have the 21' round - is pretty heavy, and is very hard for just one person to put on or remove unless they actually get inside the pool to do it. But since I'm usually removing it so that I can get into the pool, it's not really that big an inconvenience.

Works like a charm even in PDX!
This is the 3rd year we've had our 12 foot X 30 inch Metal Framed Intex pool up and is the FIRST year trying this awesome item out. It works wonders and really truly warms up our pool even in Portland, Oregon! So easy to put on and take off too! What we also use to be sure the cover stays on is those Heavy Duty Muslin Clamps 4 1/2 inch 6 Pack (also found on Amazon) We just clip the cover near each frame whole and attach the bubble cover to the vinyl part of the pool. Even with heavy rainy days we get, it holds up. By the time we get more sunny days, the water on top either evaporates or is warmed up and used into the pool (after I use a pool screen to take out some debris then take the bubble solar cover off) This cover works far better than any other type of covers we have tried. Even when the sun sets to the west of our home and shadowing the pool, it continues to be a very fun comfortable pool to swim in. Something so simple and inexpensive, works like a charm on our pool. So glad I gave this a try - worth every cent!

Great value for the money. But nothing lasts forever....
I've used this cover for 2 years and 3 months. It is finally ripping and shedding its bubbles, which results in little blue flakes floating around the pool. I am in Southern California, at 1,500 feet, and the pool sees the direct sun from 7am to 4pm.I am going to order another. The price is great, and the cover really does nearly eliminate evaporation. And it keeps the water much warmer (no need for a heater all summer long). I don't expect any flexible plastics to stay alive for more than 2 years in direct sunlight. For the money it's a great deal, but it doesn't last in this location. The size is a bit hard to deal with, but once you figure out a method it comes on and off pretty easily with one able-bodies person. If you aren't into hard work, I'd suggest getting the 12' versions. Those are quite easy to deal with. I use this 21' and 2 12' version to cover the pool. The 12' versions are lasting much better than the 21'. I do not know why that is.

Great product for the price
We purchased this solar cover for our recently purchased 12' round pool. I was skeptical on purchasing it because some reviews had said that when they had received it, that it didn't cover the whole pool surface and that they were false advertising the size or something of that nature. But I went through with the purchase and am completely happy. It covers up the entire area of the pool and then some. It's not a perfect fit, but then again, when you set up a round pool, who actually gets it perfectly round? I'd probably guesstimate that it's actually a 13' round cover so there is too much rather than too little. This cover really heats my pool up big time. I live in Missouri and we've had some heat advisories lately so it's been warm. I made the mistake of leaving the cover on and it heated my pool up to over 100 degrees. It does a great job. Highly recommended.

Purchased buy again but not the same quality!
I purchased this "same" solar cover in 2012 and it lasted 4 years before it started leaving pieces in the pool. I found the purchase I made 4 years ago in my account and clicked buy again. The quality is much less, the thickness and feel tells me this solar cover is most likely not going to last as long. I gave it 3 stars because time will tell if it lasts, but it is definitely not the "same" solar cover. It says it has a 3 year warranty "pool warranty", you know after 1 year will replace for free , after 2 years you pay 50%, and after 3 years you pay 90% and it has many not covered clauses and of course you must go to a web site and register to even be eligible. I would say the chances of making a claim on the warranty is slim to none. I am not sure if you will be able to read it but I am attaching the warranty which was not mentioned in the description that I could find. I would say stay away if you are looking for a good quality solar cover.
