Medical grade suture
My son is using these sutures to practice suturing while in dental school and as a physician assistant who has sutured often, the quality of this suture material is great. The value for the quality was excellent.

Works well for wound suturing, needle a bit dull
Have used to suture a cut on myself - works well, ties easy, great value for the money. Compared to branded surgical products the needle is dull (but adequate) and the filament is coiled loose in a sterile 'envelope' rather than being spooled neatly on a plastic card. Some random info for people trying to make their own home emergency kit: 4-0 is a good generic size to get for an emergency kit. 3-0 is a bit thicker and might be easier if you are clumsy or anticipate having a gnarly big wound. These are nonabsorbable and should only be used at the surface and removed usually in 1-2 weeks. 'One handed surgical knots' are an easy way to tie sutures with minimal tools. You should use a 'mayo needle driver' and hold the needle near its butt end with the driver to push the needle through the skin. Other good general tools to have are hemostat clamps and iris curved micro scissors. No other fancy tools needed to make your own 'kit'.
