a book well done
Brent Stevenson gets movement!. This is an excellent book, and I highly recommend. This book works well for both health professionals and non health professionals. I am a physical therapist of 20 years but I still learned from this book. Brent has a way of analyzing and explaining the way the body works. He is creative with his exercise approach and clearly has learned much from his own experiences with injury and healing. The book is a easy read. You finish each chapter without being overwhelmed and Brent offers a degree of optimism and reinforces that there is the potential to make positive improvements to your body at any stage. I would highly recommend this book to any new physical therapy graduate or student, or any one working in the fitness industry.

Fabulous read--educational and engaging.
This guy is delightful! I found his book educational and a very enjoyable read. I also learned to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear eye protection during sports where eye protection is advised. Buy this for your accident-prone, over-confident friends but pick up an extra copy for yourself.

Useful information mixed with an interesting personal story
I liked this book a lot. Brent Stevenson is not a professional writer, but he was credible and he held my attention. If he lived locally I could see scheduling a visit with him. The book is part memoir, part reference guide. He has a website with videos to help people move better and be healthier, which I thought was a valuable resource. (The verbal descriptions may have been clear from his point of view, but I thought the videos would probably be more informative for those of us who have not memorized the anatomical vocabulary he uses.) Have I looked at any of the videos? Not yet. But I did go look at the website and I plan to go back in order to prevent future problems. I also recommended both the book and the website to a friend of mine who has terrible problems with back pain.

Not what I was expecting but
I guess what I was expecting was more exercises, more stretches, more tips on how to get stronger so I don’t feel so old. Instead I’m looking at how I stand, walk, sit, and breathe. I wish I was close to the author’s office...I need a personalized and in depth explanation!
