...And i saw Red...
Bought this one about seven days ago, looked pretty sturdy, good base and flatscreen support. All drivers worked without problems, was able to do some video chat with friends via yahoo and messenger...HOWEVER, the video images it produces are VERY dark (even if you have a bright room) and very saturated in RED....Sturdy design, BAD video images... (i am sending it back..)

poor
There is much better out there for the same money. The Creative NX pro for example. Webcam is very sensitive to lighting conditions, poor with showing correct colors and hard to stay in focus. Save your money.

No problems ... but the quality of the images is poor
What do you expect for $$$$? Not much. What did I get? About $50 worth. With that said, I must also add that it works - I had no problems installing it at all (I am running a Pentium 4 machine, connected to optimum online and the operating system is XP Pro).As suggested by another reviewer here - I read the little manual first (before installing) and everything worked the first time. It took only a few minutes to set everything up. I had a bit of trouble with the webcam interface to MSN messenger but that was my fault - I went to Veo's website read their document regarding the setup procedure and then it worked fine. The images produced by the cam were disappointing - I work in a low light area and until I added an additional light next to my desk, the images were horrible. With the additional lamp, the images are just okay. The instruction booklet shows example images that look like "photos" - this is not the case - the camera's images are grainy, the motion is very choppy - read the first sentence of this review again. If nothing else, it was an interesting experiment. I've only had it a few days so maybe I'll get better response from it eventually. The most fun is having the live image appear while instant messaging my friends/family.In summary - cheesy but it works.

User's Guide/Instruction Manuals, not just for smart people
Okay, for those of us with sense enough to read the directions . . . this camera will work great and it's a great price for everything that's included!I installed it on my computer and had it up and running in no time (that's 15 minutes or less). Picture quality is good. It focuses easily. The built in microphone is quite effective. And the NetMeeting and other features are a breeze to use. I will be purchasing four more of these cameras for my parents and siblings to use as we are scattered throughout the country. With varying levels of computer competency among us I am not anticipating any problems with installation or usage. I suppose that's a pretty good recommendation. Now, for those reviewers who failed to read the instructions . . .It says clearly, do not plug in the camera until you have installed the software - this message to the person/reviewer who got the blue screen of death. And to the reviewer with the audio problems, you probably just need a new/updated soundcard. This too would be stated in the instructions, that your microphone volume control features may be disabled because your sound card does not support a microphone volume. The instructions for set up are incredibly simple and brief, the computer basically does it all for you.

Not a very good product
My husband bought this web cam for me for our anniversary. I was really excited to get it set up. I have had nothing but problems with the set up. All kind of error messages. I still have not been able to get it going. So I really do not know if it works very well or not since it won't install properly. I have never had any problems installing any products I have bought in the past. I am taking this back.

This Veo Webcam Will NOT work with Skype. Period.
This was an OK camera way back when...and I do mean WAY back, like 2003. I've had this for years, but if I turned it on more than once or twice a year, that would be about it....until recently. I'm a latecomer to Skype, but installed it and found that this Veo stingray webcam just won't work with it. Thought about updating the drivers but found that the one I have, from 2004, is the most recent one available. Since I have a need to finally get into Skype, I will be buying a more recent model webcam.

Adequate but nothing special
I just purchased this cam from a local store with the reassurance that I could bring it back for a refund. I will be doing that. The camera is a sleek looking little gadget with it's bright blue led and spider legs, installation was a breeze. This is where it stopped impressing me though. The low light performance of this camera is dismal. Be prepared to have a floodlight focused on your face! Motion caputure is also very bad; any movement and the subject blurs horribly. If there is any significant motion the video also becomes extremely choppy. A very quirky thing that I noticed about this camera is that the live image i see is NOTHING like the output image. I see over saturation and a reddish hue and the outputted image looks proper; this is annoying and I don't really understand it. Basically, this camera is a decent cheap webcam, but if you don't like getting your face sunburned from a light 3 inches away, or if you plan on using it for anythign other than bandwidth limiting video conferencing DON'T BUY IT!

Dont waste your time or money
This camera sucks!!! Installation was very easy, just follow the directions. But, the image quality was horrible. It was very dark, very grainy. I could not adjust any of the settings because if I did I would get a garbage picture, and sometimes it would just freeze and stop capturing video all together.Get a Creative Labs NX Pro instead, its the same price and 1000x better.
