Caline CP-53 Fuzzy Face Voodoo Octave Guitar Effect Pedal

The last thing I needed was another distortion pedal, but this one is cool and different enough it was worth it. Stacks well and is built pretty great.

I play most styles as a session player. This super reasonably priced pedal "knock off of who knows what" works fine for rehearsals and live pub gigs. Produces a nice raunchy sound with a Tele or a Strat. I like it compared to some more expensive pedals that it competes with but certainly not all. Worth a spin if you like to experiment with sounds in the realm of blues distortion and even fuzz.

The fuzz is great. I'm not as keen on the octave portion but it's switchable so not an issue. No noise even cranked. I love how thick it is even at low levels. I set the fuzz at around 2 and it blends with everything else on my board beautifully. Great pedal

I really like this. Sounds like a silicon fuzz face. Tone knob seems active: turned down increases bass & lowers highs, turn up increases highs & cut bass. Octave sounds like a pitch shift not a product of a the fuzz circuit like a Octavia. Mid cut for metal sound. Can get many different sounds like a big wall of sound. Solid build too.

It has the wrong taper trim pots. As others have said, very dramatic changes on all knobs from 0 to about 3 position - after that, not much going on. The normal/mid cut switch seems to operate backwards. Mid cut is louder and fuller, normal sounds like an aggressive high pass filter is applied. The step buttons on mine are backward from the one shown in the picture, but they work appropriately. I can't here an "octave up" being applied - its more like a presence boost - not really usable unless in front of a darker amp. I probably won't return it.

Is it a fuzz? Oh yeah. VERY fuzzy. Does the octaver work? Not sure, but the button does add a boost to the fuzz. So just a note. An octave fuzz is NOT a fuzz plus an octave pedal. It's a fuzz that has a pitch above the signal . Not your fuzz signal and then an additional fuzz note an octave above your signal. The button adds a cool tone but not a double line pitched up up one octave. The volume works well. The tone sounds a little flat but kind of cool with the fuzz. The signal switch adds a nice touch. Fuzz might as well be a toggle switch instead of a know because it is all or none. 7 and 8 o'clock have some differences but anything above 9 o'clock is just the same wall of fuzz. This makes it a little hard to stack with distortion, but cool by itself. Honestly, I hated it on day one, but it grew on me the more I played with it. Now I play with it pretty regularly.

It’s noisy, even with humbuckers and shielded guitar. Sounds nothing like a fuzz face. The octave button does nothing. The mid cut switch it backwards and you can’t just flip it around since it’s pcb mounted.

He tenido muy pocos fuzz, este será el 3ero y realmente es una muy buena compra. Lo estuve probando y funciona bastante bien. El manejo de los knobs y controles permite diferentes tonos y sonidos. Tanto como un drive relajado como texturas más agresivas tipo un tono stoner rock. El Octave funciona también bastante bien. Me gustó el hecho de que no es un fuzz que fuera un problema para settear. Tonos bastante agradables y con un uso (es horrible encontrar un fuzz que tenga sonidos que no se puede utilizar en estudio o al tocar) Los knobs igual funcionando excelente, el pedal también. La única situación que tuve fue que al utilizarlo con un eliminador de pared captó la señal de radio AM. La solución fue ponerlo en una fuente de poder y sin problema. Buen pedal, bonito y barato. Nada muy fancy, pero tampoco suena mal ni es de mala calidad... y honestamente me gustó mucho mas que otros fuzz que he tenido y este es curiosamente el más económico.

I have to say, this was everything i was hoping for and much much more. Well built and sounds amazing. I am still finding where best to place in my pedal chain, but if after compression, then this pedal seems to work amazing with the compression on.......actually fantastic.......but that's my opinion.......you'll find what works best for you. Before your Wah Wah is also a great place to put it and performs totally different in that location. For the price and the amazing outcome, I'd almost consider getting another to cover both. This unit rocks and is very versatile. This is one of those sleeping gem pedals, and I've tried pedals 2-3 times the price that don't sound half this good. I was and am still blown away with this pedal.

Yeah the pots are all or nothing but actually that's good. The fuzz all the way down is Jimmy all day and a little twst you are doing pumpkins! I love it! Great sounding fuzz too. Not to dark, not too bright. As for the octave, running it into a dirty amp you will not hear it, but into a clean amp (I boosted with a treble booster) it shines! Make sure you try all possibilities people.
