Nice product, doing exactly what I need.I really like this item, which is a chair in the study, but easily converts to steps to get up to the drop-down sleeping platform.This 'metamorphic' chair, took a lot of putting together, but it was manageable and relatively straight forward .... better to use a proper Phillips screwdriver for screws, than the smaller one provided.Nice to be provided with gloves to protect your hands.The only niggle is that the nonslip adhesive pads for the feet are black so are very conspicuous on a white painted object, on a pale floor - but I am sure I can source an alternative that is white or clear.

Pretty pleased with this. Metamorphic chairs usually cost a good bit more. Construction was mostly straightforward, although I was applying wood glue to the joints as well as the supplied screws, so it took a little longer than it might have done. Mostly the pre-cut and drilled parts were accurate. I did have to chisel a very slight rebate for the hinges, where the timber had not quite lined up. The hook-and-eye affair to lock the chair position is made out of paper-thin brass which is like;ly to fail, but this could easily be replaced with another hook-and-eye. I aim to fill the screw holes with wood filler, which will improve the finish. The chair is comfortable and the steps position feels secure.
