a little extra work but worth it- for happy camping AND bike riding kids AND parents!
This is quick review for the additional ProRac mounting kit the additional kit will enable us to mount TWO more bikes (bringing us to the maximum of 6 bikes total- so our kids' friends can bring their own as well!!)Love It- gave it to myself as a christmas gift- can't wait for my husband and I to now be able to take OUR bikes when we go camping with the kids!!It does as it is intended-- and the fact that I am investing even more into expanding this bike rack system says SOMEthing positive about the product don't you think?NOW- a little insight to my opinion on the FULL ProRac system...Took a long time before investing in this bike rack for our pop up trailer... SO glad we did!!Let me say first- we have an older Yakima hitch mount rack that we use on our toyota 4runner. It carries 5 bikes- fully assembled and LOVE it... bikes are easy to load/unload and once their off- the kids can hop on their bikes and start riding- But it is a hitch mount and cannot be used(obviously) when we/I tow our pop up camper. My husband is a fabricator/welder and we DID mount a hitch receiver to the rear bumper of the pop up trailer- but even with adequate reinforcement- there was just TOO much sway towing. The ProRac bike rack system was a SWEET find.An investment to be sure($$$)... but worth every penny knowing we can get enough bikes to our destination- for us and our two kids SAFELY.I did the research and was concerned about compromising the integrity of the roof of our pop up camper-(leaks/cracks, weight distribution and manipulation) and hesitant to invest in any kind of roof mounting system... and the ProRac bike rack requires NONE of that!

Pro Rac Skewers
These skewers are exactly as advertised. They fit my bike rack perfectly, and expanded it to fit four bikes. They seem to be a bit overpriced, but they are quality throughout. The bike rack itself is the only way for a pop-up camper. Once the bikes are removed, the rack telescopes down, and out of the way. The straps are a joke, just as everyone has said. I have tie down straps, and bungee cords that I use that get the job done. Overall, the bike rack is the only way, and I always get plenty of enquiries about it at the campground.

Four Stars
Straps could be better as they don't stay tight at 65mph. A stretchable strap would be better.
