9ft Pink Neon Glowing Electroluminescent Wire (El Wire)

I bought this EL wire for Burning Man. It's exactly as described and has a wonderful, bright glow. It will be easy to add to my Burning Man costumes.Yes, the power inverter has a high-pitched squeal when it's turned on. That's true for all EL wire power inverters, so don't be surprised if you buy this and hear it squealing. Just part of using EL wire.UPDATE:It was about the 3rd hour into using this EL wire at Burning Man and it started working only intermittently or not at all. I had to mess with the solder spots and wire and then it would work again but then I would notice it had stopped. I stripped it off my costume and I put the wire away for six months and then took it out again to use in a Christmas light parade. Same issue, not working as if there is a short. I need to open it up and see if I can correct the solder joint.In contrast to several other EL wire assemblies I've purchased for more money from other dealers, this one is absolutely of lesser quality. The wire has a hard plastic feel rather than the nice, pliable rubbery feel it should have and I'm unhappy with the the unreliable performance.On the upside, when it does work, it is bright and quite lovely.

I know that it has to make noise because of the required switching frequency for this technology, but still, maybe some cheap foam inside or something would really help the noise.Also, none of it is pink. It is a blue or white EL wire inside a red insulator. The overall color effect in the end is pinkish, but it is clearly two-tone. I only bought it as a safety light on a bicycle, so I don't care. But if it was for an art project, it would be more useful to know it is two-tone than to think it is pink.

I bought a pair of these to wrap around my arms for when I ride my scooter home from work in the dark. They are quite bright, flexible enough to wrap around things, have three settings (I prefer the fast flash) and run on a pair of AAs. The boxes make an unpleasant high-pitched sound when on, but they can't be heard if you're in a loud environment (like on a motorbike). I've been using them for several weeks now and haven't been run into, so I guess that means they're working!!

I got this for my sons party and we really liked the three settings and everyone loved the flashing light (setting 3).We wrapped it around the patio umbrella and it was easy to bend great around the umbrella post.I noticed from a couple of reviews the lights do make a high pitched whistling sound barely noticeable if you are playing music outside or if there are activities going on. If you have sensitive hearing you might not like it - for us it didn't bother us one bit!The items came very quickly and packaged nicely.As for durability, I can't comment on that yet, however I did bring in the two sets I purchased inside when it rained the next day. I didn't want moisture to get into the battery casing and ruin my lights! I will update later if possible.

My plan for this wire was to wrap it around my kids stroller so it would be easy to find at night in Disneyland, plus the kids will love it. So I read many of the reviews and I was very worried about the buzzing noise everyone it talking about. Ever stood under a high voltage electrical transmission line? I imagined pushing around this stroller with that type of noise. I was very pleased when I turned it on and there was no noise. I put the battery box up to my ear and yes there is a buzzing noise but nothing like some of the reviewers have posted. I let my 3-4 year old play with it for about 15 minutes and it still working. I will post an update if my thoughts of this item change.

i use this in my car. this light is cool in the beginning. but the life span is crap. Very random. the light starts to get blackout spots then the sun fades the colored plastic then the glow starts to dim. now it's time to replace it. thank god it's cheap. If I did not do the install my self I would be pissed. never the less, I buy 40 feet a year. I would not pay some one to install this for me cause it would be like changing the oil. every 3000 miles or 3 mounts.

Although not as bright as it seems in the online picture, it still works very well. I've had the same batteries in there for quite a while and they are still going strong. I used tape and secured the light on the inside of my daughter's playhouse on the ceiling, she loved it. The only reason I gave it 3 out of 5 stars is because the darn thing is so LOUD! You turn it on and the EEEEEEEE noise coming from the light gets annoying after about a half an hour.

Cool for a few days but quit working.

The drivers that came with this product did not work. The wires worked on other drivers I happened to have. Overall very inconvenient.
