Very good mouse to have
Love this mouse so much. Comfortable, smooth scrolling and easy to set profiles that are colour coded by the light on the mouse make it easy to use. The free software download lets you program your buttons and speeds how you like with a total of 4 profiles which are stored on the mouse. Adjustable sensitivity etc also has 4 programmable settings per profile.

fantastic
this mouse brand has been around for a long time but i didnt get one because of the price but i dont like using a light weight mouse so i got one of these (the rat 8 plus) , if anything i would prefer this mouse if it was a bit heavier but its fine as it is. it is nice quality, my main concern was that the side buttons would bother me but they dont. my other mouse had annoying side buttons & everytime i picked it up those buttons would trigger & mess my browser up, this is not like that, the buttons dont trigger all over the place, there is a precision aim button on the side but its not in the way so you can handle the mouse without setting it off. nice quality, i like the rubbery grip panels. will update review after ive used it for a while.

Excellent build quality, lots of adjustments to fit all hand sizes.
Really easy to use, adjusted very quickly to fit my hand and I like the pinky rest which keeps my 3rd & 4th fingers off the mousepad. Despite other comments, I found the software for setting up the lighting and the sensitivity was easy and intuitive to use. I like the quality feel of the buttons, the specific features like the aim button and the second scroll wheel, and the ability to adjust sensitivity and speed on the fly. Once set, the profile is saved in the mouse, so there is no need to have unnecessary software running on the pc the whole time.

MAD CATZ RAT 4
This is my second purchase of the Mad Catz Rat 4, it is a good gaming mouse.

Smooth, nicely weighted and comfy
Has a really nice weight to it which makes it nice to move around. The only downside is the software which still looks like it was made by a design team and has very limited functionality. I have actually crashed out the mouse due to this (motion worked but no buttons registered). The few things you can do with the software is really nice quality of life stuff though like auto-clicker and basic macros which I fo use often.

Great!
Great product. Had a wireless one years ago and had several different mice and now got another RAT which is my all time favourite. Good weight and lots of options to customise the feel and different weights

A strong piece of hardware let down by price and software
I've gotten this mouse coming from a G502 and previously an M65. Neither of which were sufficiently wide for my fat hands. This mouse does not disappoint in terms of ergonomics - key, the width of it in real terms can be configured to be far in excess of contemporary offerings from Logitech, Corsair, et al. And that's the core part of it, can be configured - I've tried this mouse with a palm, crab, and fingertip grip and with the correct configuring it could be made comfortable for any. The left thumb rest rotates and extends/retracts allowing a wider grip or narrower grip as wanted, and the pinky grip can be replaced with a full rest. Frankly, ergonomically it is pretty much perfect - all contact points will always be on the soft plastic far from any sharp points in the design and it can be configured as is needed, it's no heavier than the 502 and only about 20g over the M65, though if you are using the pinky rest the lack of contour does increase the effort needed to lift the mouse if needed. The overall finish is high quality soft plastic all over, similar to the G502's main buttons The sensor is flawless, I don't think I need to go over that - you could put this sensor in a rock and it would technically be an excellent mouse. In terms of build quality, this is a notable improvement over the older Mad Catz products - the side buttons are notable solid in place, all exchangeable components are built to very high precision, and the unneccesary aluminimum elements (base, etc) have been removed in favour of hard plastic which is more flush with the mouse components and far lighter. The wheel is surprisingly decent quality - low resistance on the axis and very light feeling, but still clicky - it's no hyperscoll wheel but it's sufficiently decent to live with. Now this is where my praise unfortunately ends. The aesthetic is understandably divisive - while I don't mind it the RGB lighting does make the "gamer" design far more egregious than any other mouse on the market, and the painted on markings are somewhat ugly in all honesty. The skeets have a small issue where if you have a tendency to rapidly and repeatedly lift off the mouse you will rub some of the base plastic on the left skeet against your mat - for some reason this skeet is far lower profile and extended by plastic to make contact alongside the other skeets The current software offering is completely atrocious. Starting out, applying profiles has hard locked my PC twice at this point, secondly the default macros and key inputs that can be applied to the buttons do not quite work - they provide input of the key or shortcut for exactly 1ms, which is typically not picked up. Further, there is currently no option to "hold" the input, which is a major failing for many macro applications. Fortunately, I do not currently have a need for such functionality but this is a large portion of my lowered rating. I cannot stress how awful the software utility currently is - all profiles are stored on the mouse's internal memory, however there is no indiciation of what profile you are modifying, though applying changes within the software will immediately apply the changes to whichever profile you are modifying - in effect, this leaves you with 1 profile that can be actively modified in reality which must be applied to a secondary slot and then your active profile then be modified (repeat) which is a ridiculously unintuitive process and not something I can really explain in full. Following install, the Mad Catz utility also fails to place any shortcuts within the start menu or list the program in the installed programs list - this is easily bypassed but is syptomatic of this mouse's overall largest failing. If Mad Catz can get their software sorted, then this would be overall an excellent mouse. And in conclusion, the current pricing of the product (£100!!) is well over the value of this mouse. If the software utility was up to industry standards and the price dropped to at most £80, ideally at or below £75, this mouse would get a wholehearted recommendation for those who require a wider mouse thanks to the excellent overall ergonomics and choice of a flawless sensor, but as is I can only recommend this if you truly need a wider mouse with a flawless sensor than even the Razer Naga due to the thickness of your hand completely screwing with the ergonomics of such narrower mice. Amazon also asked me to review battery life. This is a wired product. Amazon please fix.

This is easy to handle for my lightweight palm and fingers, precise as heck, more or less easy to customize in the dedicated app you can download from the website for this model, cute and slick to look at, original in style without being overly flashy, and the slow-aim toggle is in a usable enough position and feels sturdy/reliable. So, for 44 bucks, pretty amazing I say.

Was waiting for the Pro X3 from long time, Price is slightly higher but no regrets Delivered on time as scheduled. Quality is awesome, Mouse as expected, One of the best mouse with tons of customisation. Though Hex key and cleaning brush is missing from package. Package was sealed and doesn't seem like opened. 4 star for Mad Catz , 1 less because of seller
