Tremendous!Although a future edition would definitely benefit from some additional editing, these Horace Silver collections are immensely valuable!There is really nothing else like it out there, so major thanks for the passionate commitment of Jay Glacy to dive into the deepest waters of the Silver Songbook. An extraordinary achievement and should remain highly recommended despite any imperfections.

Great Book!!! I had been looking for a book like this for awhile dealing with the Hard Bop style of Jazz which is my favorite. The Author should do one for Bobby Timmons another underappreciated Jazz Composer!! I love Horace Silver's compositions! Always funky and interesting!

Very interesting .But unavailable outside the U. S of A . Where jazz musicians of course , don't know , don't like , don't play the music of H. Silver .

This Volume contains so many of Horace's classic tunes. The charts are all clearly notated and include harmony and bass lines when appropriate. Each chart also has a reference to the original recording. A very nicely done collection!

I appreciate the easy on the eyes look , the open binding, the dates, performance references and the scope. Cheers!OK after further review, I'm less happy with chord choices. Real Book seems better.

This is a very fine collection of Horace's tunes from the 1950s in a lead sheet format. I like that the recordings are listed by date. Some of these compositions I have not seen in print before. Very useful for the professional player and college director of small group jazz combos. I highly recommend it and look forward to vol. 2 and 3.
