I love it! It holds all my necessary gear for plein air painting with room for two bottles of water and some lunch. It is extremely comfortable and distributes the weight evenly without stressing my shoulders.

It's light and has good back support
You get what you pay for with this pack, nothing more. It's light and has good back support. I like the provision for water bladder (not included) with ability to snake tube outside and along the shoulder strap. Can support up to a gallon bladder if needed.I hate zippers. They are difficult to work with and very lightweight - good enough only for very occasional use. If the pack is filled to the brim, zippers bear all the pressure, there are no straps to releive them. There are only two big compartments and zero (ZERO!) internal pockets and zippers for small things. I don't count the two tiny tinny pockets on the side belt as they are not big enough for anything but the keys and have the same cheap zippers. Bottom does not have drain holes in case pack gets wet (say the bladder starts leaking). No top compartment for sunglasses or phone. In fact, there is absolutely no place to stash your phone in this pack except for tossing it in the main compartment where it would be lost among myriad other things you carry. The top handle is uncomfortable and litghtly stiched - don't try to carry the pack in your hand if it's packed heavy. The nylon shell is Ok if you babysit this pack. Do not try to use it for multiday hiking - too much risk tearing the shell or breaking the zipper when you really don't have many options. To sum it up, this pack would be perfect for day trips when you pack light and want to incorporate water bladder for hydration. It's not ideal for city use (college, work commute, etc.) due to lack of compartmentalization. And it is ill suited for multi-day hiking due to light tear-prone shell and worst kind of zippers you can find.Since this pack is at least properly classified in the name as daypack hiking, I would relactently give it four stars if not for the zippers. Two stars down for them may be too kind, as they will be first to break and render this pack unusuable.

Great value! Very comfortable.
For shorter hikes I wanted a slightly smaller pack than I use for the 8-12 mile hikes and after poring over the reviews, the advertised sizing and features I thought I'd give this one a shot.Pros:- Plenty of adjustments for a great fit- Waist strap pockets on both sides- Two large pockets- Side pockets will fit 20 oz bottles- Built-in rain cover- Built-in emergency whistle (actually works)Cons:- Waist pockets will NOT fit most phones. They need to be longer, reaching farther forward. (Side pockets should zip closed to the rear so they aren't pulled open when hooking on brush... this is a big issue for me going through thick brush)- Two large pockets with NO smaller pocket inside, so everything falls to the bottom.- One strap with a tiny amount of Velcro is a poor means to hold a bladder in place (I've already modified it)- Hole for bladder tube is on the left side. May not be big deal, but I've always had the tube on the right side. Every bladder-ready pack I've used before had hole in top to use on either side.- The adjustment straps above the side pockets make it very hard to reach back and remove a bottle, so unless hiking with someone else or using a bladder instead, one must remove the pack.- Would be nice to have a small strap with clip to hold car keys securely inside a pocketOverall, I believe it will fit the bill perfectly for many people. If the cons I listed aren't an issue for you, I heartily recommend the pack!Personally, I still like it, particularly because is very comfortable. After a few modifications I will probably use it for half of my hikes.NOTE: I've owned over a dozen packs yet would only ONE would I rate a 5. That said, if just half of my cons were addressed I'd give this pack a solid 5.

Great bag until it isn't
I loved it when I got it. It fits comfortably, the straps keep it from riding up or down, really secure. Bag also has a large capacity I was very happy with. I knocked two stars off for durability. First, the zippers constantly snag before ultimately failing (my bag ended up being at least half-open constantly because of this), Second the Chest strap broke off after the first month of use. Third about 2.5/3 months in the waist clip broke. The bag itself had more than enough space for me, and when it first arrived I thought it was perfect, just don't expect it to last for very long.
