This book was enormously helpful to us. It gives easy to read, insightful context for the issues surrounding dysgraphia in kids. And, it gives concrete and specific ways to support and help kids with these issues at school and at home. Dotterer has a sensitivity and deep knowledge for the issues which made for a really informative, compassionate and goal oriented guide. Highly recommend if your child has issues with handwriting, dysgraphia and written expression.

An easy read to learn about dysgraphia. Kids are sometimes punished or considered lazy when they fail to meet adult expectations. This book explains what is happening and offers suggestions to help kids feel more successful.

I homeschool multiple kids with disibilities after the public school system refused to accommodate them. I have read many books on my kids disibilities so that I can teach them the best way possible: pushing them to reach their full potential while not pushing them in ways they are not capable of doing things. One of my kids has Dysgraphia and I was looking for practical ways to help him. This book is overloaded with too much technical information about how the brain works and how memory is stored. There are plenty of examples of how Dysgraphia impacts the students ability to learn and how to recognize if a student has Dysgraphia. But there is very little information on how to actually help them. It was a very difficult book to have to read through with very little reward for having read it.

Good information on the brain and how the task of writing uses various parts of the brain. Good techniques for helping to rewire neural pathways.

My handwriting, and the shame associated with it, contributed to my poor perfomance in grade school. Cheri Dotterer's book is what my teachers needed to help me--50 years too late, though. The teachers of today need this easy-to-follow book to help their struggling students. Thank you Cheri!

I really, really want to like this book. As an educator looking for greater insight into how to support students with dysgraphia, I was hoping this would be a more helpful resource. Ironically (or is it?), this book is a very good draft in serious need of an editor. It is rife with incomplete sentences, jumbled paragraphs, and odd syntax, all of which make it incredibly hard to read. The author has lots of personal experience with dysgraphia and I would have hoped she/her editor would have made a greater effort to make sure the very writing issues of a dysgraphic person were not part of the book itself. Edit and republish!

This book is like a Bible, I’m tempted to buy a copy for school. it has given a despairing parent hope. Dysgraphia, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia can be invisible. Comprehensive and packed with everything you could ever need to know about what lies behind handwriting difficulties and if you feel your child is not meeting their full potential ( that’s me) the text is a good size to read comfortably and includes clear and easy to understand explanations of the neuroscience. Includes intervention ideas for home and school 10/10.

There are frequent errors and omissions in this book that interfere with meaning.

I bought this book for my cousin, it looks very helpful.

The book is very scientific and it mainly refers to the American society,but it is quite insightful and I am still in the process of reading it
