Useful for recovery after illness or injury/Some modifications necessary
I'm using this adjustable desk for laptop, journaling and crafts. As I've needed to keep all pressure off the base of my spine, I have been using a special chair which reclines backwards while providing support. I wanted a desk with a divided top portion, to be working at an angle, with my drink and my snacks on the level portion.I chose this Tiger Dad adjustable desk because I knew that the usual base would not fit under my low -construction chair. The base of the Tiger Dad desk does swing out, to the side of a chair, as promised in the description. As I expected, the Tiger Dad desk in this position is unbalanced and must be weighted. I have two tool boxes, both filled with heavy tools, serving as counter -balance to the two sections of the desk. For any user wanting to swing the base out to the side of a chair, this type of counter-weighting is the alternative to your laptop catapulting across your room, followed by a messy arc of coffee and snacks. I purchased this adjustable desk with this understanding, that the base would not fit under my special inclined chair, and that I would be placing heavy tool boxes on the base. The Tiger Dad desk is not a beautiful piece of furniture. This will never be a family heirloom. I can recommend this desk as extremely useful for the recovery stage of illness or injury. This is for a person who has reached the stage of sitting up in bed, or the stage of working on crafts or scrap-booking or related projects while sitting in a supportive chair. Some of the comments include wobblee-ness as a negative, but I have not had this problem with this desk. A fair amount of assembly is required, and the metal pieces must be tightened correctly.Person who needs this desk for recovery purposes may not be able to complete the assembly un-assisted. The base should be assembled first. The top is somewhat heavy with metal pieces in place, and some who can benefit from this desk may lack the strength necessary for lifting this top section onto the assembled base. Helper may be required, The desk pieces include small tools which are adequate for tightening of metal pieces.Modifications: The larger section, the section for laptop or journal or craft project has a strip which is low enough to be out of the way of hands and wrists. User must keep in mind that this strip is almost the exact thickness of the lower section of a laptop. This means that a bump with a leg can result in the laptop sliding over the strip and into the user's actual lap. I have a safety cord to prevent this. This cord goes around the hinge section of my laptop, feeds through the two holes on the other side of the desk, and ties underneath. With understanding of the need for minor modifications, this Tiger Dad adjustable desk could turn out to be an excellent purchase.Note: Reader of this review might see Vine Voice by my name, but this does NOT mean that I received this desk "for free" in exchange for my review. I paid the full price for this desk, and have contributed this review without any promise of any type of compensation. I have just thought that my assessment, as a buyer who has been using this desk, might be helpful to someone who has been searching for a laptop/journal desk which might be used comfortably through recovery from back injury or other problem. This desk can be "modified to work" in many different situations, and I just wanted to share my experience.

Good product, with just a few minor flaws.
I got this to act as a "sofa-side desk" during our lovely "work-from-home-dammit" period. It works very well for the task, with just a few minor flaws that are easily rectifyable or dealwithable (is that a word?). I left the casters off, so I've no opinion on those..Pros:* Un-described is the feature that the whole service can tilt up a bit laterally, so you can easily left and scooch under the table. Very useful if you like the table very close to your lap. It can also be rotated around the vertical for this purpose, but see the caveat below.* Highly customizable in orientation. Left or right vertical support, and you can mount the laptop and "mouse" surface in different ways, depending on your preference. The top surface will rotate around, too, so you're not stuck with having the surface in-plane with the floor support.* The "split level" works well for holding a drink or sammich, I think it'll be less useful to hold a mouse if you have the laptop portion highly tilted.Cons:* 5 screws could do with some lock washers. Get yourself some lock washers for a 6mm machine screw.. Without them is fine, but I can see needing to crank them down once or twice a year without them.* The lateral-tilt feature could leave the top surface leaning down a bit. Easily rectified with a shim close to the point of rotation underneath the table.* The part that adjusts the table height is a simple friction fit. The lower support has a plastic sleeve where the upper support slides into, and two handle screws apply pressure. The issue is that if the table is rotated around the vertical frequently, it will slowly descend over time, requiring a readjustment now and then. Not a big deal, but if that really bugs you, I'd suggest cutting a 1" wooden dowl to size, dropping that into the lower support so the upper cannot descend any further. Measure the difference of the exposed portion between fully-lowered (27mm for me) and at the desired height: that's the dowel length.

Love this!
I would definitely recommend this rolling tray table. It is sturdy and doesn't require retightening often, and that goes for any part of it as it is adjustable for many positions. It rolls effortlessly and is easily adjustable to store in a small space. Before ordering this, I had purchased a different adjustable rolling tray table and had several problems with it, mostly with it often loosening up.I have never had a problem with this one. I love it and I would not hesitate to buy it again!

Won't hold tightened positions. Looks nice, good choices for adjustments but tipped too easy.
I wanted to like it and kept it too long to return it. 1. It wouldn't fit over his bed with the side rails. 2. Once adjusted and adjusting knobs were tightened it just wouldn't hold that lock. any weight at all, a book, a cat, a cup of water, and it would tilt and things slide off. 3. No sliding stops on both sides so we cannibalized another table's and glued them on. 4. Nice cup spot but only for standard cups not mugs or bottles. 5. Seemed sturdy and looks sturdy but while not falling apart; is not stable either. 6. Looks really nice. Smooth, even color, good graining, no splinters, scratches, scrapes, ... I likely won't buy again or recommend but I might consider trying if I found out this one was just individually faulty.
