Galaxy Note 4 Holster: Stalion Secure Shell Case & Belt Clip Combo with Kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Jet Black) 180° Degree Rotating Locking Swivel + Shockproof Protection

when i first received this case my first thought was that it was cheaply made: very light and flimsy. it didn't wrap around the entire phone, it left the top and bottom pretty much exposed to the environment. also the kickstand did not really lock into a fixed position, so if you tried to stand the phone up, the kickstand would slide down and the phone would tip over. all this was ok, as i was really just looking for a holster to carry the phone on my belt, protection was a secondary consideration. at this time i would have given the case 2-3 stars . however, one day as i was exiting the car, i forgot that my phone was on my lap , it fell onto street asphalt from about 3 feet. i thought the phone was doomed. luckily enough, for whatever reason, it landed on the ground in such a way that the case cracked, but the phone was fine. for this reason, I am giving it 4 stars. comparing this case to the new Aduro for note 4 I bought as a replacement, the Aduro is the same almost exactly but just seems more solid and better built. the kickstand works fine, the coverage of the phone is a bit more wrap around. the only downside is that the stallion case was so light and flimsy that it was a snap to remove it to change the battery. the Aduro is a bit more difficult to take on and off to get to the inside of the phone.

Provides good protection. This is my second one of these cases. Dropped my phone with the first case accidentally on a hard ceramic tile floor from a countertop height of about 40". The case broke but the phone was not damaged. Replacing a $10 case is better than replacing the $700 phone. So it does its primary job very well. Use the belt clip holster and the pop out stand every day. Phone slides in and out of the holster easily when answering a call and cannot fall out accidentally. The holster's clip also can serve as a stand by rotating a built in rod but the phone screen normally faces the clip so you can't see it. Putting the phone/case in the holster with the screen in the opposite direction is a tight fit and doesn't feel right. The pop out stand is hard to pop out, I had to use my pocket knife to pry it open. There are two tiny plastic tabs that hold the stand closed and I used a nail file to trim these down a bit. Now it opens and closes easily, so minus one star for this minor design flaw.

I bought this to replace the case and holster I purchased at the Verizon store with my phone when new because the belt clip had broken. This case is thicker and more bulky than my original but doesn't offer as much protection. It has no overlap on the top or bottom of the phone so the screen will crack if dropped and it hits on an unprotected edge. The kick stand was also not as functional than my original, unless the surface was perfectly level the phone will fall over when trying to watch a video full screen with the phone on its side. The kick stand also broke after a few months use, probably because it is difficult to pry it from the collapsed position, to un snap it and deploy it takes a lot of force and one of the tabs at the bottom cracked making it useless. Only redeeming quality is the holster, the case fits tightly into it so no risk of the phone slipping out. The belt clip seems as well made as my original holster but if the plastic is as brittle as the kick stand then I expect it to brake eventually, hopefully not before I get a new phone.

Feels good in the hand. The rubberized texture is easy to hold, so the phone doesn't feel slippery. I like the stand feature for setting it on a table to watch videos. When new, it can be a little hard to get the stand to fold out. After a few times, the wear makes it easier. If you're not careful until then, the stand can break off. The two little molded in pins aren't real sturdy. But they are no less sturdy than on more costly ones. It's inexpensive enough, that if you do need to replace it, its just as easy and cheap to just buy another. I can't see spending twice as much or more in stores for the same kind of thing in the same quality.

I bought this about 3 and a half weeks ago and its already broken. I like the concept however the quality is lacking. I have dropped this case 3 times and 2 of the three times pieces broke off. I now have a corner and a piece along the left edge missing. My last case was an Otterbox which i used for over a year and dropped dozens if not over 100 times and only recently had a small piece of a corner chip off. Additionally, the pop out stand on the phone case itself is positioned in a way so that you can only really stand the phone up in a vertical position. You can sort of position it sideways but if you try to tap the screen or bump the table or whatever, the phone tips over. If the case pop out was moved slightly upward toward the camera cut out it would probably be much more stable on its side. The case also makes it difficult to remove the stylus which is really annoying since I use it often. Lastly, the finish on the edges of the phone case is already beginning to come off. Note sure if it is from rubbing when being inserted into the holster or not. I have only used the holster a handful of times. Either way after 3 and a half weeks of use I feel that the finish should not be showing signs of wear. I guess you get what you pay for. Okay I got my case today. I did the same day delivery and they got in in a very decent time. I bought this case for my Galaxy Note 4 and it was the same style for my S5. For anybody who wants to know if it fits the Galaxy Note 4 it does perfect. Equipped with two types of stands for y'all FaceTiming video chatting selfies movies or whatever you need hands-free. Even though it's my first day having it it's a kick ass case and I highly recommend it.
