Logisys LDXRM196C RGB LED Strip and Remote Control Kit

These do work and they have held up for at least 2 years for me. I mainly use them as an outline ambiance lighting for my desks at my office. What I don't like is that the IR receivers are hit and miss. I have purchased multiple Logisys strips and packages both on Amazon and at Fry's and maybe 25% of them have receivers that don't seem to work. When things do go right, this is a good setup for a really low price. Also the adhesive on the strips won't stick too well so use your own!

The biggest headache with this kit is there is no power source provided. I had to use an old laptop power supply. 12v 6 amp is what is needed for the full strip, so depending on the length you go with, use that as a reference (if you cut it to 8 ft, go with 6v, 3 amp, etc.) You will have to get a power source separately. This kit is NOT plug and play.The dimming buttons on the remote don't work. There are no instructions provided at all on how to set up any of the DIY buttons on the remote, which I can probably figure out myself anyway, but no instructions at all shows poor effort. Fade 3 and fade 7 options are what I'm looking for anyway luckily, and static coloring is self explanatory. These buttons work fine.The adhesive sucks pretty bad. Once you set it, don't move it, or you will need tape. I would honestly use tape anyway to begin with. As soon as I started pushing my desk back to the wall, the strip started falling.I set this up an hour ago and am kind of regretting not going with a more well put together kit.The lights are great and are also the reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1. Rgb kits can get pricey. You get what you pay for. Deep blues, reds, greens, purple, etc. I just feel like logysis is a rinky dink manufacturer overall.Buy with caution.

Easy and effortless installing. No tools needed. Only issue is that the adhesive side doesn't seem to stick as you'd expect it to be, but overall completely satisfied with this product.

I tested it at first, it worked okay, even thought the remote was glitchy I went ahead and set up. Then after I finished the remote got even more glitchy, it doesn't choose the color I press, and then the blue lights stopped working all together. This product is garbage.
