I was looking to get a second shoulder rest for a new back-up violin I am restoring, but didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg. I am pleasantly surprised by how comfortable this rest is! I normally use the bon musica shoulder rest and this actually didn’t feel too different on my shoulder. The one thing I like better about the bon musica is it wraps around the shoulder and feels a little sturdier than this rest. However, if I never had the bon musica before, I think this shoulder rest would rate extremely highly in comfort and in value! The little rosin and cleaning cloth it came with were definitely a nice touch as well. It was worth every penny.

I had quit playing 20 years ago and recently started again. I never used a shoulder rest and it is making it possible to try and play again. I have a different shoulder rest , but it kept falling off. I looked and looked and decided to try this one.First impressions : First, I don't think CuStream is a violin shop, but apparently know how to make a good shoulder rest. I don't know where this was made and don't see anything where it says. The company apparently is either in Oregon or that's where it distributes them from there and made somewhere else.It is very easy to adjust to the size of your violin. It felt comfortable and sturdy on the shoulder. It collapses down to fit in your case.In the box: One shoulder rest, 1small box of free light rosin ( M Amazing Rosin brand ), 1free grey cleaning cloth, a thank you card. It is presented in a nice white presentation box with gold letting with their logo and the size you bought.Hopefully my photos will help. I bought this because of other people's reviews!

Very easy to adjust sizes, easy to put on and take off my violin. Came with a nice box, plus two or three rosins for my bow and a nice cloth for cleaning. A great deal and a great rest, haven’t had any issues yet, helps me hold my violin correctly too.

Bought this for my Bruce she is a beginner and this was perfect. It was able to be adjusted to shoulder in the proper angle that she needed, so that her shoulder and neck would not get tired or sore trying to hold it in place. Also the height can be adjusted to help with the grip in order to get your best play. Light weight and easy to carry where ever she needs to go or store it.

This shoulder rest is really much better than I expected. Its exactly what I needed and is very comfortable, it stays on the violin (4/4). I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends without any hesitation. Also, it arrived very nicely boxed, accompanied by rosin and soft cloth to wipe down the violin. Not only was its presentation lovely, but does exactly what is advertised. Needless to say I am pleased with my purchase.

I just read a question about how this stays put on the violin and someone said "glue"!!! NO! This is a friction fit. The "legs" are rubberized (non-abrasive to the violin's finish) fit easily onto each side of the instrument and stay put by the secure fit and do not move. The rest is very easy to remove when you're finished. I learned to play years ago when we used rubber banded pads for shoulder rests. This is so much more comfortable & attractive. Fits in my case too. Very happy with this purchase.

Got it for my daughter who’s been playing violin since third grade and is playing a difficult peace for her NYSSMA competition. She says it feels so comfortable on her shoulder and it makes her shifting so much. It also came with some free rosin and cloth which she uses all the time now.

It's distinctive feature is that it swivels from front to back, the idea being that it adjusts easily to the tilt of the fiddle to your chin. For a reason I haven't figured out yet, it swivels away from my neck and that makes it uncomfortable. I probably don't have it positioned properly but I haven't found a position where it works to my advantage. I like it and I like the idea of swivel feature, just haven't got it to work yet.
