this guy is a creepy, sexual predator that clearly twisted the facts to incarcerate (again) a human that he CLEARLY felt was below him and thus not worthy of a fair trial. he is the scum that he fabicrated Avery to be. Avery is not without warts, but come on. Just looking at Kratz makes me zuke.

Nothing new here, move along
Mr Kratz chose to fill the pages with snarky comments about the Avery and Dassey families, rather than offer solid evidence and facts to sway public opinion from what they were “spoon fed” in the documentary. Impressed that he took accountability for his personal failures, however, I don’t believe that he has his narcissism under control. Somehow, he was still able to make this book about himself, not Steven Avery, not Making a Murderer, and not Teresa Halbach. I won’t be recommending this book to anybody, as it is nothing more than regurgitating his talking points from all of his online interviews.

Don't bother
I did not enjoy this book. I felt like he was just telling everybody why their thoughts are wrong. His writing seemed hostile. I am open to listen to all sides but i felt like he was talking down to me. Much better books on the subject out there.

This is a joke, and not even a funny one.
It's rather amusing that in the blurb for this book the word "indignation" is tossed out, considering what you find when you open the cover and read the contents. When I first saw this book, I was intrigued by the idea that this might contain crucial details about the Steven Avery case that the Netflix show did not offer to viewers. Perhaps it does just that, but it is so buried in the mire of Ken Kratz trying to systematically take down "Making a Murderer" and defend his position (no pun intended) that one nearly forgets at times that this book is about Mr. Avery at all.Whether you like him or don't, believe him or not, this book, for me, seemed to be more about why the author should not be viewed as a criminal than the man at the heart of it all. I really can't keep track of the number of eye rolls that came with the reading of this book.I understand that there are various addictions out there that do not get the proper respect and attention, and I am certainly not trying to discount those, but, according to the blurb, this book was supposed to be about Stephen Avery and the evidence against him. I thought, after finishing it, that it was more about the author than anyone else.Needless to say, I found it disappointing. My opinion of this case has not been swayed either way by reading this, but my opinion of Ken Kratz has gone down another few points, for all the good it does. This review is based on a complementary copy from the publisher, provided through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

The truth on this subject,?- Oh Really
The truth on this subject, - you won't get any truth on it from Ken Kratz. Brendan Dassey's latest appeal goes to the SCOTUS later this week (Dockett 17-1172) and he will probably lose. The main reason for that is that he is probably guilty, as is his cousin, Steven Avery, is also probably guilty. Spending some research time and effort is worthwhile if you find this case is of interest. You should also pay close attention to both Steven and Brendan's behavior when watching the MAM Netflix series. That has convinced me that both of these guys are probably guilty as convicted. That is the truth on this subject. You can do the same with the author of this book and you just might come to the conclusion, as I have, that he is even less honest, far less believable than either Steven or Brendan, and completely un-trustworthy. IMO this narcissist author probably used planted evidence in not only this case, but many cases throughout his career. Someone like him does not do these things just once. Winning is everything, truth and due-process be damned. Knowing what the author has shown himself to be time and again, one word comes to mind right away - scumbag. Like a cockroach that scurries for cover when the lights are turned on, the author of this book, likewise, sought deflection and cover once his lascivious proclivity was illuminated. If you do try to read this book, beware of the acrid effluvium as you crack open the cover.

Evidence left out of Making a Murderer
After watching the second half of Making a Murderer I found this book because I was reaearching where everything is at now. I found a many articles and videos about evidence not mentioned and videos being manipulated in the documentary. This book outlined some important information not mentioned that was extremely incriminating and used tables to compare the differences. I feel bad for Ken and the other officers involved.Mr. Kratz if you read this just know that in time more people will see the truth. You really are a hero for what you have endured because of this. Thanks for keeping Steven Avery off the streets. He can’t hurt anymore women and I believe he would if he were out of jail. People like Steven dont change. Thank you for doing what you have done. Keep talking about it publically so more people change their minds. Netflix really did a disservice to their viewers by allowing something like this on their platform. Don’t let a large group of stupid people discourage you. Stay strong and good luck in your journey!!

Ken Kratz is a twisted man. He writes horror fiction and attempts to sell it as true crime.
This book is the work of a very twisted man. His description of the crime in the Teresa Halbach case was proven false by the evidence. He knew that before he gave the press conference about her death. Not long after the Halbach trial Kratz was forced to resign as a prosecutor over rape and harassment charges stemming from the domestic abuse victims he was sworn to protect. He's admitted to drug and sex addictions. But he's still active on social media harassing women with unwanted attention. He even went as far as to threaten one woman, in May 2017, by posting the names of her family members. Ken Kratz is the dredges of society and has caused suffering his entire life. Don't buy his book. Don't support him.

It all becomes clear!
My husband and I finished watching both series of the Avery documentary last week and after having read this book our views have changed. The book is written in a clear and convincing way and illustrates how tv documentaries have the ability to sway the views of their audiences by selective editing. A criticism I have, however, is that there was no explanation, in the book, of the lack of blood in the bedroom and/or of any evidence of a massive clean up, hence the removal of one star. The author did not present himself in a good light in the documentary particularly during the press conference (which he admits in the book that he deeply regrets doing) where he came across as gloating and full of his own importance. I have to say, after reading his account of proceedings, I have somewhat warmed to him. As long as it can be accepted that everything detailed in the book is true, it is clear that the jury heard more information, than was shown in the docuseries, on which to base their decision.

Hmm still 50/50
Stars are because I dont know if this book is factually correct or not, I would only be speculating to say it's fault having no knowledge other than manipulated media.I've watched season 1 & 2 of Making a Murderer on Netflix, followed Kratz & Zellner on Twitter (Kratz has dissapeared now) read Wrecking Crew and felt Steven was totally innocent. I do however now feel that all media can be manipulated, if what Netflix showed was the ONLY version of events, it doesn't make sense why multiple law offices / courts / processes keep rejecting the appeals, there has to be more to it. Given the fact I have read arguments from both sides, I struggle to believe what is truth. But this book does answer some outstanding questions and also makes more sense as to why appeals are not entertained and consistently get rejected, also why Steven Avery is still in prison. I honestly don't know what to think, but I know there is more than what Netflix shows you.IF what I have read in this book is correct..... I feel tremendously sorry for Ken and all the team surrounding this case for the treatment they have received following on from them simply doing their job.

Best I have read but ....
Its not a bad read - its just that it could have been written so much better. Still, it did the job on persuading me to this point of view. But there still needs to be a definitive book written on this subject. An impartial one.
