A layman's review. It's a good product
I've had this in my computer for a month and am for the most part happy. This was fairly simple to install in a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s. It took about 20 minutes to change the BIOS, remove the bottom, install, and then attach the bottom back on. The most difficult part was removing the bottom of the laptop. A couple screws didn't want to release completely for some reason. Google search will turn up numerous tutorials for installing in a T440s. The tutorials will walk you thru the necessary BIOS changes (to turn the internal battery off while you install it). Since my computer already had a 256GB SSD as the main drive, the m.2 slot was open. Once installed I had to format the drive before it was recognized.Again, since I already had an SSD, my plan was to install a different operating system (OS X), but after use I decided to go back and just use this as storage. Before I had selected certain folders on cloud storage accounts to download onto the computer, now I keep all files synced, about 100 GB worth. This makes working without a wifi connection much easier. It even allows me to extend the battery life by turning off wifi until I need to sync. I also downloaded a few movies to have on trips.I got 202 GB of usable space. Nowhere near 256GB and not close to the 240 or so others report. It would be nice to have more capacity, since that's what I paid for.As far as speed, it's fast enough. Just to test, after I had taken OS X off and reformatted, I mirrored Windows and ran thru several boots on either hard drives. With Windows 10 I averaged 9 seconds to the logon screen, another 7 seconds to the Windows desktop on this SSD. On the main SSD I averaged 8 seconds to logon screen and another 7 seconds to Windows desktop. Not a scientific test, but for the average user, the conclusion is, this is fast and much faster than an old spinning hard drive. This did come with a screw (and tiny screwdriver) for installation, but my computer already had a screw in the M.2 slot so I used that one instead.

Excellent Boot OS / Application drive.
Unit works perfectly fine! 240GB as labeled (not 256GB as described) and shows around 223GB in capacity after OS. Not sure where 17GBs get lost but we can thank Microsoft for being generous? and another 23GB for them to show Start button (your installation may vary). In the end, 200GB of "usable" space is available for applications/data. Doesn't matter. For boot drive, it's more than enough (for me at least). Is it fast? Well, it's fast enough. It's definitely slower than a SAMSUNG 850 PRO 1TB for example. Is it noticeably slow? No. OS & apps load very quickly and that's what matters.I was contemplating between this unit and Transcend's TS256GMTS400. Transcend claims faster speeds (as per their description) BUT, people complained about Heat and instability issues. This is the LAST thing I want to deal with in the middle of work / presentation. Not to mention severe headaches of re-imaging / restoring, installing apps and configuring etc. even if the drive was replaced under warranty. Finally, decided to order MyDigitalSSD 256GB even though it is a little bit slower (advertised speeds anyway) and little less space. The board (or drive) was cool ~ slightly warm to touch during installation and copying files (is it cooler because it runs slower? ..don't know). Anyway, this provides peace of mind in some way knowing that it's not going melt or the laptop. Too early to say anything about stability & reliability. Other reviews didn't mention or maybe, I didn't read. Further, if this review is not appended with such information, you can safely assume that the drive is working fine.Knocking one star for false advertising (240GB vs 256GB) and slightly slower speeds than similar offerings by other companies. In the end, it is much better than old 5400rpm or even 7200rpm HDDs and many older/slower SSDs. Added, it frees up a SATA port in laptop which can be used for data drive(s) or other OS(s).

good but not great
I have had this product for about a month now. While going from a hhd to a ssd is night and day, all is not cookies and pie. The setup was a bit tricky but not impossible. Just set the m.2 drive to load first in the bios and install windows. Problem comes when your system comes out of sleep mode for the first time. Everything freezes except the mouse, which does nothing because nothing will open. After some research I found it may be something with windows 10 power management. I turn all of that off including graphics and sleep power management. This seemed to help but I still get random freezing even after fresh start. The drive is fast, not the fastest but fast enough to deliver a good experience. If I can only get the freezing issue resolved I would give a higher rating. Hope this helps.
