The only book you need for the new Aussiedoodle owner!
I ordered this book several months ago when I decided I wanted an Aussiedoodle. I have read many books on raising puppies as a long time dog owner. This book was spot on with everything I have experienced with my Aussiedoodle. Though she is a wonderful, highly intelligent animal, house trained remarkably well, and does not really need to be crated anymore at 5 and 1/2 months, she is fearful (just as described in the book). I agree that it is imperative that this Aussie trait is managed by working diligently with her very early in life for her to reach our goal of her employment as a therapy dog. Diane has fantastic recommendations (like all you really need is a few antlers and a squirrel log) - spot on. Why waste money on a bunch of toys, she is most interested in playing with me regardless of the toy. She provides great suggestions for any breed, but particularly for Aussie and Border doodles it is perfect. Thank you for writing such a well informed book for the new Aussiedoodle owner.

Should be called Goldendoodles, second edition
This is a very helpful book with lots of great 'general' info about care and maintenance of a coated dog. Some of the genetic info must be taken with 'grain of salt' as this book was written by a researcher and not an Aussiedoodle breeder. This means the actual author has probably never raised one litter of Aussiedoodles and so is relying totally on the info provided to her by the breeders and owners she has contacted. Good as far as it goes, but some of the genetic info is flawed and seems to be slanted by the 'opinion' of one breeder only, if you can believe the credits. This is an absolutely wonderful new breed with a much deserved 'top' reputation. In closing, all you critics of new breeds...just watch your recorded playback of Westminster and listen to the announcers giving the laundry list of the different 'breeds' used in the creation of todays' accepted breeds. Do you think your cute little Sheltie, Dachshund, Doberman, terrier....on and on and on,etc, fell off Noah's Ark looking the way they do today!!! Is there no room for new or better in the dog world! Check out your breed books from as little as 50 years ago and see all the new 'AKC' accepted breeds that have been added. Who made you the 'dog police' and God of new breeds! There are purebred dogs in the shelter also and AKC papers are no guarantee of good, loving, available home for any puppies. Whatever you breed or buy the answer is to be caring and conscientious in what you do and being a responsible breeder, owner, dog lover, etc.

Aussiedoodles are the best of both breeds!
I love this book. Being a breeder of Aussiedoodles it was nice to see someone take the time and do their research on this amazing Poodle and Australian Shepherd hybrid. Half of the book is about Aussiedoodles and half is about puppy and dog care in general. I would of liked to have seen more pictures of Aussiedoodles and visual comparisons of the different generations but all in all it was a good buy. I have recommended this book to all my Aussiedoodle puppy buyers as well. You can visit our Aussiedoodles at Dreamydoodles.com!

the book is written with humor and practical information and is a joy to read
I wish this book was written by someone with a science based credential rather than a dog book author, as this makes me cautious. I've learned the hard way that not everything in writing is true. That being said, the book is written with humor and practical information and is a joy to read. The history of the development of the breed and the grooming details are of particular interest to me. The genetic information about all breeds is interesting, if a bit complicated. Anyone considering getting any hybrid pup should read this and verify with a knowledgeable vet.

Delivers!
This book really is worthwhile for Aussiedoodle owners. Unlike at least one that claims to be an all-you-want-to-know "handbook" for Aussiedoodles (that turn out to be basic dog manuals with Aussiedoodle facts pasted in here and there), this book delivers.

Our New Puppy
With just a few weeks before picking up our new baby I was starting to wonder what exactly to expect! After all, there are books on all the pure breeds but nothing about the amazing Aussiedoodle--until now that is!! I may have to purchase this for my kindle as it's already getting worn in places. No nonsense practical advice which we are using daily. If you want an unusually smart and fun dog you won't go wrong with an Aussiedoodle!!!!

This book is a must buy if you are getting or already own an Aussiedoodle
This book is so full of useful information. The chapter on genetics and potential health problems alone is worth the cost of the book. It also gives very good insight in to finding the right vet and other particulars about this breed specifically. Like the information says it is not a coffee table book. It is a book full of scientific details and very important information specific to aussiedoodles.

Great Book
If you are interested in an Aussiedoodle this is the book for you. Has tons of info - actually more than you may care to know. I would say this is actually a must have for someone interested in or buying an Aussiedoodle. Well written and easy to understand. Have a neighbor who breeds dogs and she even stated that it was an awesome book. She wished that there was one written like this on the her breed. Well worth the money.

Everything you need to know.
A cross between an Australian Shepherd (sheepdog) and a Poodle!!I would recomend this book for anyone considering an Aussie. It has good information on breeding and what to look for in a breeder. Although its published in the UK it's written for Americans with lots of information on American vaccinations (shots!), Rabies for example isn't necessary in the UK. Also advice regarding Federal Law for service dogs and therapy dogs is also different in the UK. The grooming advice and training is breed specific though so I liked that. Our Aussiedoodle is 9 months now and I bought this book for information on grooming.
