The content is expected - but is the signature real?
I read a few reviews of the book before I bought it, and they seemed to be quite varied. Some said the recipes were too simple, some said they were too complex. A few even said there were just too many pictures of Antoni. I don't mean to speak for the entire population who bought this book, but did people really want to buy a book related to him WITHOUT there being pictures? :) Honestly, I felt there was a balance between the number of recipes, pictures of Antoni, and pictures of food. I have yet to read all of the recipes in extreme detail, so can't comment on how complex or simple they are but I have found at least a few I want to try, and that is enough for me. I feel the personal information is used well to weave a story around the recipes, making it more than just a cookbook. My biggest concern: is the signature authentic? After buying this book from Amazon, I had the opportunity to attend a small signing at Antoni's New York restaurant, The Village Den. Yes, I spent the time comparing the signature in the book he signed in front of me, to the signature in the Amazon book, and also to a picture on Instagram of a book I know he also signed. All 3 did not match, as one can expect when someone is signing so many books. But there were enough similarities between the Instagram photo and the copy he signed in front of me, and not enough with the Amazon book (which was signed on a completely different page, and therefore was missing something that looked like a "signature" part of his signature in the other two books). It's possible that for the "anonymously" signed books, he deliberately signed the blank page and not the page with his name as author. But I just don't know. Regardless, it's a good book that seems to accomplish what it was trying to be: a cookbook infused with personal aspects of Antoni. But maybe go for the unsigned copy just in case.

I bought this cook book because of Antonio. He has great ideas for recipes and I love the photos. I also watch their show. Louise C.

Great Addition to Kitchen
I am a kitchen bitch. As my hips can attest to, spending a few hours in the kitchen when I have the right recipe and amount of time is one of my favorite things. So every year, around Christmas, I select one new glossy, hardbound, photo-laden cookbook to add to my collection. This book was this year’s choice, and I do not regret it one bit. I find the book in my hand more than I even originally anticipated, and have been delighted by the recipes. To the amount of negative reviews decrying “recipes are too simple” and “too many photos of the author”— if you’re looking for the culinary rigors of de-boning a chicken and making absolutely everything from scratch, and you haven’t picked up a cookbook from an attractive chef who makes the majority of their fame and income on a screen lately (think Bourdain, Giada, and even that silver fox, Jacques Pepin [who provided a blurb for this book], well— go elsewhere. I’m a stickler for photos-accompanying-recipes, and was only disappointed once. The photos were not a problem for me. And I’m no slouch in the kitchen, and found these recipes to be a good balance of effort-for-outcome and time-for-product. For the young professional with an adventurous palate who is trying to do it all in 24 hours, including cooking for themselves and/or others at home, it hits.

Great gag gift
My brother and his partner hate Antoni because he rarely actually cooks anything. So we got this cookbook for them as a gag and they loved it.

Antoni in the Kitchen: Review
I preordered my book, and got it this past Monday. I read the forward and intro, and enjoyed reading about Antoni’s story and how he came about his career and passion for food. The book is aesthetically pleasing, especially the photos of food accompanying the recipes. I have already made the recipe “Pasta with sausage, lemon, + parsley”, I told my family I would cook for them if they bought the ingredients for me and would cook when I came home from the gym. This was a big thing. I cook for myself, and typically don’t eat with my family. But the fact that I made this the same day I got the book, and cooked for my family. We were all really excited and there were no left overs. It simply a delicious recipe and very simple to put together. I’m going to be making another recipe tomorrow, the turkey chili one, and I’m really excited to put it together with one of either the watermelon appetizer or raspberry dome dessert.. but I know either way, everything will be absolutely delicious. Attached is a photo of me with the recipe I have already cooked. Thank you Antoni for putting your heart in this book, I can definitely see and taste the love! - Bailey

Candid Photos of Antoni with a few Recipes
I want to preface this review by stating that my wife made me watch multiple seasons of Queer Eye but this book has me confused. Is it a book of photos of Antoni or is it a cookbook? Where I would have loved to see a photo of the recipe there was a photo of Antoni. There are a lot of recipes in here that I am excited to try but I’m a little surprised by this book as it seems to have both eye candy and food porn. Cutting edge you might say. I bought it for my wife from the treasure truck. I walked 15 minutes both ways in a scorching 85 degree humid day. Only to get excited for recipes like “easy bastardized Ramen” (picture of food) and “duck fat roasted potato salad” (picture of Antoni only). My wife loves it though so I am happy.

Disappointing!
The media could not be loaded. Great cookbook overall, but very disappointed by the lack of Antoni’s topless pictures. Looking forward to his next books — hopefully, “Antoni in the Shower” and “Antoni in the Bedroom”. And a cocktail book because, you know. Thirsty.

A beautiful and inspiring cookbook.
So, I think my new favourite thing in life is listening to Antoni talk about food. He talks about it in such a way that really resonates with Kelly and I. On the show his passion shines through and we love seeing how excited he gets teaching people recipes and inspiring them to cook for and with their loved ones. Food to us has always been happiness. Food for us is full of memories and stories and family history that we want to keep alive. Our Nanna and Grandad's recipes make a good day better and can turn a sad day around and they are what helps keep us connected to them now that they are not here.Just like on the show, you can feel the love throughout this cookbook. From the main introduction to each recipe introduction, you can hear Antoni's voice and feel how special each recipe is. I sat and read each one and made notes of all the recipes I wanted to try first and I couldn't stop smiling. It's rare that Kelly and I stray from dishes that aren't our Nanna and Grandad's when it comes to cooking. We like to experiment with baking but it isn't often that we cook new dishes from a recipe book, but we have felt truly inspired by Antoni's story and passion. Over the weekend we made 'Jonny's Queso Blanco' (minus the chorizo- we haven't been eating meat for a little while now.) We got to experiment with new spices that we never use because, well, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper is our staple. It turned out delicious and we were so excited. Then, yesterday we whipped up 'Chickpea Masala' which was so much fun to make and absolutely gorgeous. It was full of flavour, super simple to make and we ate it while doing our happy food dances.'Antoni in the Kitchen' is more than a cookbook. It's stories, it's memories and it's a beautiful example of how food can bring people together. Sitting around the table with family and friends, cooking with love in your heart, taking care of yourself through what you eat and also looking after others with scrumptious food is one of life's purest joys and to quote our Grandad, "It's easy when you know how," and Antoni's here to show you how.

Perfect as a pupperoni
He's amazing, book is amazing, love the wee anecdotes - the recipes look really tasty, easy enough to follow and super detailed instructions. Credit to the photographer, every photo is gorgeous. Everyone's getting an Antoni in the kitchen christmas present this year (the best present).

I loved watching Queer Eye and remember a series in which he taught a french omelette omg my omelettes have changed forever because of that episode. So when I saw his book coming out I brought it straight away with out hesitation. I loved reading his little bio and even more his recipes. They are so easy to follow and change up a little. I have made at least 5 already and been stunned by the flavours. I would never would have put together or eaten before! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Delicious man and delicious food!
Masked this as a purchase for my wife, who is a big fan of both Queer Eye and food (love you, honey), but really I wanted to trace the outline of his body in the photographs and incorporate these drawings in to my ‘abs and all’ vision board. A really inspirational read.
