BRINKS - 40mm Solid Brass Keyed Padlock with 2.5” Shackle Clearance

I am just getting into lock picking, and this is quickly becoming one of my favorite locks to pick. This really was key to helping me understand spool pins. The spools are cut deep which give you convincing false sets, and lots of counter rotation. There is also plenty of room in the keyway for bottom of the keyway tension. The longer shackle is also a plus as it is easier to hold. I think an experienced lockpicker would be able to figure this out in 30 seconds. Also my binding order was not 1234 like one of the other reviews here it is more like 4132, which is definitely more challenging.

This lock does exactly what I need it to do. It secures my valuables discreetly. I didn't think I needed big, obnoxious lock to secure my items. I did however want to know that I was guaranteed that my personal items would be safe when I walked away from them. This lock is discreet and effective. It's pleasing to the eye and it's a deterrent at the same time. It comes with a spare key and the lock does exactly what I need it to do.

This fits perfect on an attwood style coupler with the drop-over shackle. I own 2 of these and have used one for years. Just a squirt of lithium grease once a year into the key mechanism.

Didn't get a chance to use it but this lock fit the dimensions needed for an abf U pack trailer bulkhead which requires a long yet skinny lock.

Easy to use. Keeps my boat safe

It looks good, it feels good, so I'm guessing it is good but when I attempted to put the first key in it wouldn't go. I switched keys, got the second to fit in after wiggling it around for a while, then the first key worked better. I don't know for sure if it was the lock or the keys but it now work OK so we will have to see. The movement of the key, of the unlocking of the lock, it appear to be stiff and felt like it was work on rough parts. Can't say I've ever had a Brinks Lock before but I don't think I will be buying another.

I bought this padlock to experiment with lockpicking. Pops open with only moderate effort by a novice picker. Easy to shim as well. At least it's physically robust.

I have recently started lockpicking as a hobby and this lock was open within seconds. I am not good at lockpicking, I essentially just picked around in there and it springs open with ease. If you want this lock to protect any of your things, get a better one.
