Great unit
I am really pleased with this satnav it has so far worked flawlessly I love the way it highlights all the upcming hazards like bends, hills, pedestrian crossings and even animals. I also like the way it warn you when you exceed the set speed limit for the road, it allows you about 2mph above before warning and it only warns you once per speed limit section so it doesnt distract you. I also like the way you can choose to see the time of the journey left, distance left and time of arrival thats really useful. You can drive without setting a destination and it shows the roads around and the current speed of the car which is nifty. There are loads of other features, it has top down and 3d view, and it changes automatically to darrk colours at night. Also has multiple voices you can choose. The sun shade is really useful for avoiding glare. The only thing I have to say that is not so great about it is the fact its quite difficult to get it off the fixing bracket. Although this means it wont come off easily from any bumps, which is a good thing, it also means if you want to stow it away its a bit tricky. I am also not sure yet if it has any live traffic on other than historical traffic I dont think it does. But it does have speed cameras.Overall it is a superb device espeecially for the money and works really well.

Large clear 7" Sat Nav Screen. Lots of Settings
Large 7" clear screen with peaked frame to shade the sun. (Love the large screen).Clear road lanes & junctions etc. Lots & lots of options in settings, not "live" road traffic! Perhaps slightly late in announcing juntions to turn but junctions with distance & time to turn clearly shown. Polite voice warns when speeding.Optional update maps, think it was updated before dispatch. GREAT VALUE! Love it!

Great sat nav
This is a budget sat nav, don’t expect to get real time updates you would from a more expensive one. Nonetheless for the price the built in maps does the job without fail.Pros- it has a larger screen than most sat navs making it easy to see for pretty much anyone, and if you can’t then you probably shouldn’t be driving- built in maps and offers free map updates so no need to worry about it going out of date- doubles as a radio, when connected plays through car speakers if you want the extra volume- the device itself is sturdy and has a well lit backscreen so it’s easy to see without sunlight reflectionCons- battey life is only around half an hour if not plugged in, so if you need the socket for anything else like charging your phone would have to take turns- can take a while to input the address compared to other sat navs- if I’m being very picky the graphics seem dated but to be honest for the price this isn’t a major complaint, if you’re into the aesthetics of things I guess this could be a flawOverall, considering it is a budget sat nav it’s cheap and gets the job done well. My biggest complaint is probably the battery life as streaming music via bluetooth can take battery off my phone so require the port for charging that, other than that this is a great product!

Buy with caution
I purchased the Awesafe Sat Nav for Cars GPC Navigation System 7 inch for a friend who has limited funds and needed a large screen. I had not heard of “AweSafe” although there were good reviews. Before handing it over to my friend I decided to test the accuracy of the device as my friend has no sense of direction.I needed to take a journey from Swansea to St Hiliary so I set up both the “AweSafe” and my existing TomTom 6200. The outward journey was straightforward except that, with both devices set to “Fastest” the “Awesafe wanted to turn me off the M4 long before the TomTom and, as I was following someone who knew the road well, I ignored the Awesafe, which then recalculated the journey and took me off at the same junction as the person I was following and the TomTom.However, the return journey was far from straightforward. Whilst having no intention of returning home immediately, I set both SatNavs up as if home was my next destination. I then proceeded to take several detours to see how the Awesafe might react if the need to divert occurred. Initially both SatNavs recalculated the journey as expected. However, after diverting off the initial diversion, the AweSafe stopped recalculating a route that would take me home directly but started to calculate taking me back to where I had diverted off the original road. The TomTom kept up with the expected alternative routes. After a while I decided to stop and turn off the Awesafe and re-start as a new journey from the point at which I stopped. However, the AweSafe could not find a GPS signal. I then turned off the TomTom and re-started that and it found a signal immediately. I then continued my journey to see how long it would take the AweSafe to find a signal – it did not find a signal until I got home, some 10 miles later!Clearly this device is not fit for purpose.
