1-year update: downgrade from 5 stars to 2 stars.After having this case for almost a year, I can say that I would not purchase another one if my case broke. It's a decent case but the biggest flaw is that it's difficult to remove from the case, and it has gotten progressively worse over time. The silicon sleeve provides too much friction for the holster, to the point where sometimes (maybe half the time now) it takes me more than a few seconds to remove the phone from the holster. I pull my phone out multiple times a day and this is a major annoyance. Sometimes the friction is so great that it warps the hard shell out of place as the phone is being removed from the holster.If you want to buy this just for the sleeve/shell for protection without the use of the holster, I'd give it 4 stars. If you intend to use it with the holster, I would not recommend it.//End 1-year update//1-week update: Still like it but realized there are some flaws.+Starting with the good updates, the case kickstand did become easier to open as predicted.+Also surprisingly, when the kickstand is in the out position, it does not impede holding the phone up to my ear while make calls. I had thought it would get in the way but it doesn't. In fact the kickstand fits snugly between my index and ring finger, so it almost grabs my hand for really good support. This may be dependent on how you hold the phone, and I typically talk on the phone using my left hand so it works out. It wouldn't work if I used my right hand.+It's a nice touch to be able to access the microUSB and 3.5mm audio connectors while the phone is in the holster.-Getting into the newfound annoyances, the phone is a little difficult to pull out of the holster due to the friction of the silicon sleeve. Nothing can be done about this.-When in the kickstand position, it's hard to use the phone without pushing/sliding the phone backwards on any smooth surface. It would have been nice if the kickstand had some rubber/silicon contacts for better grip.-Not so much of a negative comment, but more of a dumbfounded comment. I found out that the holster also has a kickstand but I don't understand the purpose of it. The holster is designed to hold the phone with the phone's screen facing the holster and the phone's back facing out. You cannot put the phone in the other way. So using the holster's kickstand with the phone in, all you'll see is the phone's back. What is the purpose of the holster's kickstand? The phone's speakers are also front-facing, not rear-facing, so it's not even good for playing music since the speakers would be muffled by the holster.//End 1-week update//Initial feedback: I love it. Had it for less than a day but if I don't update this review then that means I still love it.Detailed feedback: This phone holster has three parts: a soft silicon sleeve, a hard plastic case, and a hard plastic holster.The silicon sleeve and case firmly fit the phone yet is also really easy to remove at the same time, unlike other cases that require a bit of a struggle to remove. The sleeve seems like it's thick enough to provide decent shock protection but not so thick to make the phone bulky. It probably adds a half centimeter of thickness around the phone. The sleeve covers the SIM/SD card flap on the right side though, so it will have to be removed to access the SD card. This shouldn't be too much of a problem though as most people wouldn't need to remove their SD cards often.The hard case around the sleeve has a neat kickstand, but it's pretty difficult to get that kickstand out (my only complaint). Maybe over time it will be easier as the plastic nub that keeps it in the closed position gets worn out.The holster provides 180 degrees of rotation with many "clicks" between for many angles. The phone feels very secure in the holster and slides in/out from the top rather than snapping on/off so it's unlikely to break free from holster by getting jostled. The belt clip is firm and has a hook at the tip which keeps it on the belt when pulling the phone out, preventing it from slipping off when removing the phone (as do many other cheaply designed holsters).

If you want SUPERIOR protection this is the case to get!! I was very skeptical at first because it looks very cheap in the pictures but I've been seeing a lot of similar cases like this on many phones so I decided to give it a try. I Bought this one with a holster because the phone is so big it feels uncomfortable in my pocket. Especially at work every time I bend down to pick up boxes I feel that I might bend my phone. So I THOUGHT it would be a great idea to get a holster as well.One time I left my phone on my lap and forgot about it. I stood up and my phone fell on hardwood floor. I was expecting to hear a loud slam followed by regret for putting my phone on my lap in the first place. This case was like a rifle with a suppressor on it. When my phone hit the floor it was basically silent. It almost sounded like dropping a block of rubber. I've dropped my phone multiple times and every time it falls it doesn't seem to take much damage due to how it sounds when it falls(You'll understand once[if] you buy it). The hard shell covers all four corners, which is where most of the impact and damage takes place so that there is a MUST HAVE feature on a case. The built in stand is hard to pull out but in a way that's good so that way it won't be coming out randomly. You can use the stand both ways (landscape wise) tilting your phone left or right.The holster on the other hand has gotten very annoying. Although it has a firm grip on the phone, sometimes it's WAY TOO grippy. It is difficult to get the phone in and out of the holster.Everything looks/feels high quality. Nothing feels cheap not even the holster nor the clip that clips to your belt. I haven't had any problems with the case but I did with the holster. I've had this case for about 3 months and it's still working good. I Highly recommend this case for the 816 if you want good protection.

I purchased this case a while ago but waited to review it to see how it held up. The case comes in 3 parts: The matte silicone cover that goes around your phone, a rigid plastic case that fits over the silicone and hugs the corners and back of the phone (this part has a kickstand you can pop out so you can set your phone down), and a plastic holster that attaches to belts, pockets etc.I personally don't use the holster but it's an extra level of protection because you can flip the phone so the screen faces the inside and is protected from scratches if you're travelling or going outdoors.The case doesn't add much weight to the phone and the corners are well-protected (I've dropped this phone on hardwood floors and it's undamaged).Overall, I think this is one of the best cases you can buy for the money -- I would highly recommend it if you have the HTC Desire.

good case i dropped my phone quite a few times and this case kept it nice and safe,its pretty tough and its pretty easy to install,it even fits if you decide to put tempered glass on your phone,the only downside is the kickstand while it is very convenient to have,its cheaply made so expect it to break,other than that good case and well worth the price

I bought this for my new phone and I like it. The hard exoskeleton doesn't quite fit but I the secondary case piece all the time and the outer piece a little less. I like it isn't too bulky and seems to do the job well. Price was nice too.

Nice durable protection .Looks like higher priced models . I have not found the need yet for the front screen protector but I am glad to have it .

Great quality and well made case. The plastic is sturdy and the rubber internal case is snug.the case itself does not add substantial bulk and the holster has great durability I highly recommend this case for the price (^__^)

Good impact protection. Just wish it had a built inn screen protector.
