I used the adaptor that came with a kit for use with a drill or a hand held hex head. I would still take it very slow. I used this size for vise handles or small diy cabinet pulls. I have also used a jig you can make yourself that I saw on YouTube. It works amazingly well.

DO NOT use stainless bolts without anti-seize, They will lock up tighter than fort knox and you will break the screw and the insert will either back out or strip !!!!!! Non stainless screws seem to work OK..
