Cork Gaskets are Tough
It is difficult to get a cork gasket to seal. You definitely can not over tighten. This was the correct fit for 1981 Ford Bronco with 4.9L in-line 6.

Don't buy didn't last 2 months with daily driving
I put in on in February and I was driving to work one day and it looked like I was draining my out out of my valve cover. Not very satisfied with my purchase. Just go to a parts store and get a fel pro gasket unless you want to be in the shop away from the wife.

Better than a tacky RTV job
Installed on a 1979 Ford F-150 Custom powered by the indestructible 300 4.9L in-line six cylinder engine, with a 3-speed manual transmission. The holes were slightly off in relation to the holes on the valve cover and but it did not affect installation at all. Now, no more oil leak on the top end of the engine!

Doesn’t fit some aftermarket valve covers
I like the construction, nice quality cork on top and bottom with a metal frame between them. Made well but it was a little too long for my aftermarket chrome valve cover and this made the bolt holes not line up perfectly. I’ll have to get a different one because oil is leaking like crazy in my particular case. Probably fits stock fine. It could also have those little tabs that stick through the notches on the outside to help hold it in place when you install it. But overall not too bad of an install.

Good gasket.
Solid gasket. Perfect fit. Don't over-torque these. I used RTV on the valve cover, stuck the gasket to it, smeared oil on the other side of the gasket, a little RTV around the rear corners, torque, drive for a while so the cork expands, then retorque – no leaks.
