The sliding shorts are very flexible and the protection on the side is not bulky. My daughter says she likes to wear them much better than her uniform shorts alone because they fit so well. They provide a nice cushion bumps and falls. I like them because she is willing to wear them and they make me feel more comfortable when she's out on the field. Sometimes it's difficult to get kids to wear protective gear.
