Creek Audio Evolution 50A Integrated Amplifier (Silver)

Bought the Creek amp for a "small" system at a Florida winter condo. Fed by Cambridge CXN streamer and Oppo BDP-93 disc player, feeds B&W 602 speakers. The sound via speakers is excellent, particularly in clarity. Controls are copious and solid. But in a condo I listen via headphones much of the time. The Creek will not adequately drive my Sennheiser 650s. Volume setting near high end is needed much of the time, and for some DVDs even this isn't enough. I will need to try lower-impedance headphones.Later: lower-impedance phones make no difference. This amp simply doesn't supply adequate headphone volume.

Very musical little amp. A little On the warm side of neutral but balanced sound. Having a little trouble controlling the bottom end of my three way floorstander, but the midrange is above average. With the Ruby DAC which I installed myself, it become quite a versatile receiver. The Bluetooth works well, and the FM tuner is nothing short of outstanding. Build quality is also above average. Very happy with this purchase. Need to find a matching speaker now.
