My screen is working good as new now
My screen began flickering when I closed the lid and I traced this to be the problem. I did what the other reviewer suggested and only partially disassembled the laptop. It was much easier than I thought. I was able to just unscrew the left hinge and route the cable under. It looks almost identical to original with very slight differences on the connector. Also, the logic board end didn't want to stay seated initially. It would snap in but come out. With a little pressure of the screwdriver it seated all the way down. My screen is working good as new now.

Worked great
My backlight started flickering a few months ago and the tech store charges $100 dollars just to take it apart. I did some research and it looked like the inverter cable was possible cause. It took 3 hrs to do, but worth saving $100!!!

Works as expected
My backlight went out on my early 2008 13" A1181 Macbook. I replaced the cable, the inverter board, and the screen. Everything works great.
