Boyt Harness Tactical Range Bag

While agreeing with some of the comments of the previous reviewer, I find this bag to be a good value, particularly when on sale. I added two Colt magazine pouches to the molle straps on the side of the bag to solve the mag storage problem. The end pockets are great for either two sets of ears/eyes or just for additional storage. The center compartment has a rigid base and sides and is great for multiple pistols (in Boyt cases) and enough ammo for a good session at the range. I put a stash of targets in the narrow exterior side pocket and other items like loaders, brushes, towels, etc. in the other larger side pocket. The padded shoulder strap makes lugging all that gear manageable. I would add the 5th star if the bag had feet and a better zipper pull for the main compartment zippers. Still, a very well made and very usable bag.

I have just received this range bag and must say I was a bit disappointed. I chose it over the Midway USA compact competition bag because this one had one key feature that the Midway lacked: large end pockets needed to stow my large hearing protectors and shooting glasses cases. But, here's the lowdown:THE GOOD:+ Has those end pockets ideal for hearing protection, glasses and other accessories.THE BAD:- NOT made of 1000 denier nylon as claimed in the description but the much cheaper and lighter weight 600 denier stuff (if even that.)- Does not have feet or hardened bottom to protect the bag when setting it down on rough, dirty, or wet surfaces.- Does not have the band that connects the two zipper pulls at the top so you can pull them open together in one shot, like the Midway bag has. Instead, each zipper has its own little pull rope. This is inconvenient, and the flap that covers the end of the main compartment cover is too long, adds inconvenience.- Does not have elastic loops to hold magazines and speed loaders in the side pockets.- The zippers are not the heavy duty YKK zippers claimed and do not have the nice plastic pull tabs pictured. Instead, they have little ropes attached.- Minimal padding everywhere.Overall: Barely deserves the two star rating I gave it and I'm returning it on the morrow.
