Mach 3 White Metal Shaving Handle

This is a great shaving handle. I did have an Art Of Shaving handle but it finally wore out and I didn't want to spend so much if I didn't have to. So I tried this one. Wow! First of all, the color is actually a cream color, not stark white. Perfect match with my AOS brush. Secondly, the balance and weight of it is excellent, and the shape is perfect for my hands. Easy to get a good grip and maneuver it as you shave. Thirdly, when you get it and take it out of the box, you do have to screw it together which if you're a guy and can't do that, you probably don't need a razor anyway. At first glance it seems like the screw inside the handle is too short but just unscrew it a few turns so that more of it is sticking out the other end, and then you can easily screw the end piece on it. Do tighten it well of course. The comments about it swiveling or coming apart are because they didn't tighten it well. And of course if it unscrews (mine never has) I'd just unscrew it, put a small dab of bolt tightener on the end of the screw, and tighten it back up again. Bottom line: Unless you're one of those people they show on commercials for the New Improved whatever-it-is who wrenches their back using a garden hose, or having a can of corn fly across the room whenever you try and use a normal can opener; you'll be fine.

I guess it was good while it lasted...but it didn't last longer than nine months. Why?! Why can't the longevity of these handles keep in step with their cost?! I'm beginning to think that shaving handles in this price point altogether are not worth it because, even though they look great, there not made very well where it counts, and the smallest, cheapest parts always seem to bring down everything else. In this case, it's the plastic retracting "button" that grabs and releases the blade, which completely wore out after 8 months. I gave this handle light use during the time I've had it: I'm bearded, so I only ever used it on my neck and cheekbones, nor am I always a daily shaver. So, really, I feel I should have gotten a longer lifespan out of this handle. I did notice that the broken retracting button slides out of its holder, presumably so that it can be replaced. But, replaced by what??? So far, I haven't found another from which I can transfer that broken part, and, in the end, I'm not willing to spend extra money for a replacement part when I can just buy and use a new (and cheaper) shaving handle made by Gillette. Too bad. I really liked the comfortable porcelain handle of this, but, hey, you can't shave your face with just a handle.

I was looking at the handles from the art of shaving store. I've always been fascinated with this stuff but the ridiculous costs have always kept me away. I figured for the price of this one I can't go wrong. I got it yesterday and put it together and I love it. Nicely weighted and quality is pretty good too. I'm sure it's not as nice as the $300 handles I see, but who would spend that much for a handle anyway?

Left my generic Mach 3 razor at a hotel but still had a bunch of blades left over... you know the drill.So I found this product while looking for a reasonably priced replacement handle. I am surprised what a great product this is and it gives me joy to have something nice feeling in my hands.My only complaint is that during use eventually the handle starts to unscrew and you have to tighten it back up.

I initially bought this razor because it was a great price and I was looking to update the current handle I have now, which is slimy and disgusting. When this came in the mail I was pleasantly surprised at its quality and how it worked perfectly with my Mach 3 razors.This is now my go to handle every morning for shaving. Now all I need is to get a shaving brush as well, which this brand, Boss Razors, carries I think.

A classic; add traditional shaving soap for those in no hurry to enjoy a clean shave

Was working fine before the little tiny plastic piece broke off while changing blades. Meh.

The razor arrived with the handle not attached to the base. The center screw that connects the handle to the base is so short that it would not stay attached long enough to be used.. Otherwise the heft and quality was fine - if they corrected the very obvious screw problem (or improved their quality control if that was the issue) I would rate it 4 stars.
